Weight savings and good build quality.... I give zero f***s

Anyone have any input on the wrap?

I'm not using it. I personally don't think it matters.

SlowZ 07-23-2014 05:37 PM

I would be able to wrap the entire exhaust, test pipes back, with DEI wrap for $50 so that's why I was thinking of doing it. Just to keep it looking good and stuff and to prevent any scratches or dents that could occur while driving

Japanjay 07-23-2014 05:41 PM

I wouldn't, will hold water.

I'm going to be swapping my Y over to the Motodyne XYZ pipe to see if I can quiet things down a little, and remove that rasp. I'm going to try the resonator first, then if that does not muffle the sound enough, the HFC.

The parking garage security guy at my office is starting to complain. Getting kicked out of the garage is not something I would like to have happen.

I was thinking about picking up the Amuse resonated Y, during the Bulletproof Auto sale, but damn, that thing will cost $1500.

You could get the XYZ and arts. There is a guy in my club with a 350z that has the Tomie, but is running the XYZ with standard cats and it is much tamer than tests with the tomie y and y back.

abm89 07-27-2014 07:04 PM

I'm running resonated test pipes without the Tomei Y pipe and it's usable under 3k RPM

Japanjay 07-27-2014 07:09 PM

Oh, another note, I blew the 02 bung on the passenger side off running some bikes. Grabbed third and it sounded like a u-joint broke and the drive shaft started flopping in the tunnel. Freaked out and instantly pulled off the road on the shoulder. Looked under and the 02 was hanging and smacking the ground causing it flip up and hit the undercarriage. Will be calling Z1 tomorrow about getting a new one to me by Thursday, going in for tune on Friday. We think that since I was only a few miles from the house and the engine was up to temp, the defouler and sensor was still cold and when I super heated the test pipe the metal expanded really fast and popped the Bung weld.

I have FI LTHs, so my only option, without going back to stock headers, is a resonated / catalyst Y pipe. I only need to kill the DBs a little. If I did go back to the stock headers, I would just reinstall the set of HFCs that I was running on my first aftermarket setup.

Everyone should post a video of their setups with the Tomei  we've already seen japanjay's curious to see how the rest of your setups compare.

I'll have something next weekend after my track day.

Though, videos don't accurately represent how many decibels are coming from the system.

Fitment just doesn't look right. Although, they do look nice on the nismo bumpers.

You are so right, video doesn't provide the audio needed. Must hear in person.

SlowZ 07-28-2014 01:18 AM

I'll try to get a WOT flyby video 1st-5th soon.
