Once it is posted online, I will post it on the forums.

Jon was telling me about you when I was up there over the weekend. I have ART pipes and motordyne z370 w/ stock headers. It is LOUD when it needs to be... and he said your setup was twice as loud lol.

I have to hear that one day. Are you coming to znats?

Nice vid! Really highlights the "expreme" sound. Also, what was with the wing on that other 370? Way too big. Although, it did look like it was pulling on you pretty hard, supercharger?

How is the wing too big? Lol anyways no, intakes tp exhaust and tune is all ive got. no supercharger. Thank you though :)

You're actually on a track, where you would benefit from a wing like that, so I can't hate on it too much. I guess I'll say that it's too big for me. From a style standpoint, not functionality, it is too high and sticks out from the sides of the car too much. Looks like a big shelf. Again, I understand that it's purpose is not to look good, but to be functional.

Time for an update!

The noise got the best of me. My car was just way too loud for a DD. I would get negative comments every day from people at work. So I made a change and added a Dynomax VT muffler between the FI LTH and Tomei mid pipe.

I don't have any pics, but I was able to combine the two 2.5" pipes from the Tomei with the Dynomax 17964 muffler and sandwich it all in there. It took some muscle to get it all lined up, but I eventually got it all bolted together. I'm sure a proper exhaust shop could do a better job, if they cut it up a bit and welded some flanges on. I've gotta pick up some exhaust tape to seal up the connection points, aka leaks.

The sound is completely different than what I was used to with the Tomei. Gone is the high pitched "chainsaw". It has been replaced with a low rumble. During normal driving, it's a little louder than the stock exhaust, IMO, with almost no drone. Spirited driving brings out the sound a little more, since the valve opens and it changes to a more straight through design, but it's still quiet in comparison.

Hopefully this will be the last time I make any major modifications to the exhaust.

You gave in. Didn't you have the motordyne xyz with the resonator?

Kingbaby 10-19-2014 09:53 AM

motordyne XYZ w/resonator eliminates rasp on most single setups!

I rasp around 3-4k on accel/deccelaration is mostly on cold starts and slowly dies out when warmed up. Wrapping the ehxaust doesn't hurt either

can't wait to add Tomei to my life

Yeah, the MDyne resonator helped with the rasp a ton, but it was still ear bleedingly loud over 3.5K RPM, even at partial throttle. I also tried the HFC module and it didn't decrease the volume at all, it just cleaned up the exhaust gasses a bit.

I still love mine! Lol. I get a ton of compliments on it and people break their necks to see what car is making all that noise. But... I live in a small, quiet city and it's gotten to the point where cops know me by name and I'll have people text me that they can hear me driving whenever I take the car out. I still have momentum headers that need to go on and I'm wondering how much louder it will be.

Still got mine on too. Sounds like a raped ape from 3 miles out. I get compliments also all the time.

aszyd 10-20-2014 07:33 PM

Lol, the only time I got a compliment was when I was sitting in traffic, slowly moving forward. The gentlemen in a lightly modded CRX said, "your car sounds fast."

Japanjay 10-21-2014 04:02 PM

When I go out with the car club and cruise my friends were saying if they get separated they just stick their heads out the window and listen for where I am at. One guy was saying when we were in some tunnels he was OMG he is everywhere. Lmao.

Joined the club today. Tomei back section, Motordyne Y pipe with resonator and Fast Intentions resonated test pipes. Best decision ever.
