K&N drop ins + HPS tubes= aronund 13 whp costs around 200, easy installation and cleaning.

Stillen G3's= 18 whp costs around 500, mods to install, bumper removal to install and clean.

For me is a 5 whp difference, not worth the money or the hastle, this is my personal opinion.
totally agree with this. just because there are listed set intervals for cleaning, means nothing. It all depends on driving style, weather in your area...the conditions.

ohh and on a side note for drop in filters AFE dry flow>K&N

Is that what people are getting with the HPS tubes and Filters 13whp? I didnt even dyno my car after installation I figured it would be that good of a gain.

Stillen G3s seem to be a good mod indeed.

If you don't plan on doing any mods except intake then get the stillen Gen 3's since they give the largest gains. If however you plan to do exhaust and other mods then it really doesn't matter. People who have exhaust, HFC, etc who then did intake afterwards all saw roughly the same gains: 5-8hp. So whether you just get k&n drop ins, the k&n short ram intake, or still Gen 3's you will get the same gains if you plan to do other mods.

In my opinion I would rank them in this order: k&n drop in's, k&n short ram, then still GEN 3's. Mainly due to cost and ease of maintance. K&N drop in's work well and give gains without the look of having an intake. The k&n short ram is good for those who want gains but also want to pop the hood and show they have something. The GEN 3's are a good qaulity intake with that WOW factor but require a good deal more work to install and maintain compared to the other two mentioned (although still not hard to do). Really it's just up to you and what you are looking for as in the end the hp gains will all be roughly the same if you plan to do any other mods.

the OP did not asked for the cheapest intakes so your ranking is wrong.

he is asking about the most powerfull intakes available for VHR.. which is Stillen CAI..

Now its "HIS" call if he wanna go for CAI or SRI but the direct answer for his question is
Stillen Gen 3

You can even make marginally more power with Stillen G3s if you utilize the fangs and route some cold air with ducting up to the filter location as well.

It's not that black and white. I'd rather give the OP all the tools to make his decision.

Definately Stillen G3's FTW...Was also looking into this issue at one point in time, but after looking at all the independent reviews their gains/numbers came out pretty consistent.

I've definately seen/felt better throttle response, and you can hear the difference of the motor when reving past 5K...If you have an aftermarket exhaust you won't be able to hear it, unless you're outside of the car.

I'm interested in the K & N drop in filter and the HPS tubes combination... price seems right and the added power is good. Actually I didn't expect that much from this combination. Not a fan of long tube CAI's especially here in PR when all of a sudden cats and dogs fall from the sky... I've seen my plenty share of hydrolocks.

Could someone route me on where are the best deals for teh K&N's and the HPS tubes? PR370 where did you get yours from?

Stillens are just as likely to hydrolock as your stock intakes if oyu check the position.

PR's weather and climate is similiar to that of Guam's....the way that the Stillen G3's are designed are to avoid any type of Hydrolocking....That is why they are postioned behind the front bumper area... Cats and Dogs have been dropping out of the sky here lately as it is our season...The only way you're gonna hydrolock with the Stillen G3's is if you actually drive your Z into a lake.

The Injen's CAI's design is more prone to hydrolock vs the Stillen...Now in reference to the SRI (K&N Drop Ins/HPS Tubes Combo) that you're talking about, based on all that I've read about SRI's...there are zero to negative HP gains...This is due in part to the Z's engine bay getting heat soaked from the High Heat tempertaures of the HR motor....Thus instead of getting cooler air into the engine, you're actually gonna get hotter air with SRI's....The Stock boxes are a lot better, as with the way the stock air boxes are to minimize the amount of heat around the filter area.

Just My

Thanks for the feedback guys. Bolio I don't understand your comments on the SRI, the K&N and MPS combo doesn't seem to be an SRI. From what I've read on the MPS tubes all that they do is eliminate the inefficiency of the stock air inlet piping section. Could someone with this setup provide further clarification?

On the G3 being the best option HP wise I agree however I don't plan on spending $599 + shipping at this point for only 5 additional HP... If the 13 WHP claim stands... Does anyone has the dyno sheet to prove this?

You can check out the Stillen website for Gen 3 info. They have dyno sheets and photos galore.
