I agree, that was the main reason i chose the whole Z1 motorsports silicone set in blue (K&N filters too), and a full Tanabe CBE (it was the whole package i had envisioned for an exhaust for the 370z). I wrote out a plan from bumper to bumper of what i wanted for my girl Vanity, haven't looked back! Mod until your completely happy i always say!

Gorgeous intake pricey, but who cares. We all spend more for our parts then most domestic guys, but we do it anyhow. Its your car you enjoy it and are happy with your purchase, that's what matters.

Well appreciate it guys. All I wanna do is put some info out on this system on our forum in case anyone is interested. I understand the cost but... hey I wouldn't spend a couple thousand on the amuse body kit, but I enjoy watching everyone do it because it looks bad*** just different priorities. This thread shouldn't be about price but more about another option we have for our Z which is pretty different.

If it wasn't that it looked like it was pieced together (welds) for the bends I think it would look pretty nice. As it looks it the picture, looks like someone threw some pieces on a bench and said weld it together...

You can't really bend Ti. You have to cut and weld.

Guess you might want to explain that to these guys. I can see where it might be more cost effective to cut and weld, but don't make a blanket statement that it can't be done...

he's correct. High grade titanium is unable to bend. you have to have a much lower grade softer metal to bend pipes like that. so if you see titanium that is bent, its probably pretty low grade and cheap

Well gotta work with what we have. unfortunately we don't have a 2.5 inch titanium intake with no bends under $1,000 that are long tubes.

Okay. Change "can't really" to "it's possible, but a serious pain in the *** since Ti is much more brittle than steel or Al".

I just have to add my 2 cents:
for all of the non performance mods we do to our cars, like paint, aftermarket wheels that actually weigh more than the stock forged wheels, body kits, air suspensions, wrong fitment tires, and the list goes on.
I really don't see anything wrong with offering a real titanium intake system, that is only a few hundred dollars more than a standard name brand cold air intake.
And for the people that think the piping diameter is too small: it is the same size as Stillen( enough said )
The system looks great, it is high quality with a high quality name brand filter, and it performs just as well as other bigger brand's cold air intakes on the market.
