No different than running a muffler delete or the Shorty pipes. Just now all the heat escapes right under your gas tank.... Probably not the best idea. And you might encounter some smell due to it hanging out under the car and not escaping like it would if it ran to the end of the bumper. But sound wise the same as those 2 listed above.

So it's open from header back?

Noisy, smelly, codes from missing 2ndary O2's, and picked up some top end, otherwise, fine.

Well i still have my muffler and exhaust tips on but its disconnected. The hangers still hold my exhaust but i have a 2 inch gap. I took out the bolts and the gaskets. Any thought?

Effectively, they are out of the picture.

If you get a CEL from missing secondary O2's, the ECU might dump fuel in an attempt to protect the (missing) cats, which will eventually kill power, but in general, nothing to be alarmed about.

Eventually you will need to either get a tune or try some mechanical fix for the missing post cat O2's, but otherwise, you will be fine.

Not a good idea to run it with the muffler off. Ask me how I know. 150 bucks later for a new bumper bracket I went to a muffler shop and had some pipes welded up to go out the back. Also if you get a funny smell in the cab thats the smell of the plastic bracket melting.

I ran it like that till my Litespeed exhaust came in. Only a few days. No issues here but a LOT of drone. Gets very annoying as everything resonates off the bottom of your car. I was running it like that with headers and test pipes and the H-pipe and mid pipe from CNT exhaust. I fully removed my canisters from the rear though so I had nothing on the back end at all. Saved me 30lbs on the exhaust system lol.

I removed my muffler and drove on two separate occasions for 20min total. Sounds good just nasty exhaust smell in the cabin, no melting smell though

Default 370z Open Headers

I've been running open headers for over 2 months. DO NOT do this unless you have throw-down pipes because you will melt the undercarriage.

What I did was cut my AAM Short Tails at an angle and bolted those to my Fast Intentions long tube headers. This works really well. You can see them on my Instagram.

Driving in traffic is safer since you're basically rumbling everyone around you so they always know you're there.

sooooooooo why not just run straight pipe?

when swapping exhaust i've revved it up with just test pipes and the front leads of the FI exhaust on. sounded the same as when the rest of the exhaust on.

Thats absolutly true.

I have test pipes, mid pipes, and electric cutouts with the stock muffler. Fun at the flip of a switch.

Which cutouts are you using? Any problems with sticking?
