14 days to go! :yum: |
Well I got mine late yesterday afternoon... wooo hooo!! Had a few buddies come over, ordered up some pizza and got started. Better pictures later, but here's a cell phone pic of it all laid out (18" Res w/ HFC's).
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h4...0924091732.jpg Stock cats came right off and the FI's went right on in their place. My friends love the way the extended O2 pipe bends out and away from the HFC's (defouler). The catback took us all of 15 minutes to bolt on and line up. It was dark, so I may have to make some minor minor adjustments in the daylight, but it all looked great last night. Starter her up in my garage and holy crap. The first 10-15 seconds of cold start was loud and DEEP. hahaha. So nice. Once she warmed up, idle was just a nice low purr. Per Tony's instructions I let it completely warm and cool through 2 cycles last night and one more this morning before actually taking it out. My drive to work this morning left me with the biggest grin on my face. I took the long way to work, and just casually drove it letting everything slowly break in. Never took it about 3500 because I knew if I hammered on it I would just never get to work at all. Now I just can't wait for my lunch break to go out and drive more, hahaha. Thanks Tony! :D - Rob |
How's the drone, Rob? I'm not sure if I'm going to put everything in at once (easiest) or do one at a time. I have the same setup as you.

Weather permitting I will try and get some videos this weekend and posted asap. Try and provide a better review at that time as well. In the meantime, just know I’m very satisfied with my purchase, in every aspect. Quality materials provided a smooth install, a great fit and a beautiful finish, with a one-of-a-kind sound. A big thank you to Tony for the excellent customer service and great business you have provided me. I am 100% satisfied and will continue to recommend your shop and product to anyone in the market. I finally opened it up on my lunch break today and WOW did she sound good. I went and had my own “tunnel runs” driving under every overpass I could find just to hear the sound bounce off the walls. It’s loud, yet it’s so deep and refined. The thing will just purr at idle and under normal driving, and roar to life when you punch it. My wife hasn't heard it at all yet, so over the weekend as I take her out she'll make the final call- believe me. It was an argument and I made her listen to Tony's video clips every time I did, to try and convince her about the cats. Worst case scenario if its too much for her, she may pull rank and make me sell the cats or something. Ha ha, we'll see. ;) |

Past 4500rpm is MAD. I just had a listen on YouTube of an Enzo of all things and damn they sounded familiar. Love it, great stuff Tony. |
Hey guys, here is a small teaser video of my install. Just a couple of notes though. The camera being used is just a small point and shoot type (my friend has my real Video cam), also the area is quite small and created a bit of reveb and echo also. Although it does give an idea of what is to come:tup:.

The most important thing i forgot to mention. The WAF was secured:tup:. She actually quite liked the sound and only thought it was a bit loud at first cold start up this morning.

Every time I drive down a street every head in the street turns. I may have to order some HFC depending on how much grief I get from the oinkers. So totally happy with the setup though. Undoubtedly brings out the beast in the 370. I was just at a meet with about 150 modified cars and would have to say my 370Z had the best sounding exhaust hands down. |

man oh man, you guys hype me up so much about this exhaust!!
i can not frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ruckin' wait!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D i'm happy for you all :tup: :happydance::happydance::happydance: |
So we are starting the install. I read the instructions for the HFCs and am a bit leary about doing the HFCs given the steering column stuff. Not sure if I can get it done without moving that out of my way...
Will start with the CBE. Just need to figure out jack stand points for the rear of the car... |
Quote:
A nice place in the rear for the jack stands is on the aluminum (silver colored) suspension arms. If you place the jack stand a bit towards the midline of the big round part (where the springs sit), you get better height. Placing the stand right IN the round part leads to a lot of sag when the car is rested on the jack stand. Hope that helps. If you're doing the CBE alone, do tell me how the drone is (or isn't). I've been waiting for a nice review from someone with the 18" resonators and stainless mufflers alone (no HFCs). Thanks |
