I have done installs like this before with only jackstands and it's not too bad... though a lift is preferable, I have no ready access to one.

whew..

just be careful bro...

dont want to see you on the 6 oclock news squashed under a z...

m4a1mustang 09-22-2009 06:36 PM

Tell me about it. I'm fully prepared to stop and take it somewhere if I don't think I can safely do it.

I will probably do it on two stands. I've never put a car on 4 before and don't really want to practice now! Two stands up front will take care of the HFCs and the front half of the CBE. I'll put the rear up to put the mufflers on. Should be OK!

kdo2milger 09-22-2009 06:38 PM

in for results

dainedazz 09-22-2009 06:39 PM

goodluck with the install mustang ;)

m4a1mustang 09-22-2009 06:41 PM

BTW, kdo, you know how it is with the SN95 installs... tails go up over the axle so you have to get under there with a sawzall. :)

kdo2milger 09-22-2009 06:48 PM

cant remember if i had to cut it out or not... i think i did...i did throw it away though when i put the slp on, i definately rememebr using a lift...

i used a lift this time too and i would recommend any one wanting to swap cbe out use one...it makes it so much easier and you can knock out the oil change at the same time...

m4a1mustang 09-22-2009 06:49 PM

Yeah, I mean, I would, but there are no places around here to do it. And I don't have my military ID anymore so I don't think I can get on base to use theirs.

kdo2milger 09-22-2009 06:50 PM

fort eustis?

here you dont need a military id to get on post anymore

m4a1mustang 09-22-2009 06:51 PM

Ft. Belvoir and Quantico are the two nearest.

kdo2milger 09-22-2009 07:00 PM

ah..have you been to their mwr websites to see if they have a sprockets or something like it?

kdo2milger 09-22-2009 07:01 PM

< still trying to figure this out. The exhaust replaces the cats, but the headers they are developing will also replace the cats?

no...the exhaust replace everything from the cats to the exhaust tips...

the headers will replace the manifolds and cats...

frost 09-22-2009 07:13 PM

Which completely makes sense. I guess what was throwing me off is that a HFC price was being listed in the first post as if it somehow came with the system.

spearfish25 09-22-2009 08:29 PM

Can some of the 'new' recipients of their exhausts post some new vids? Thanks.

nogoodname 09-22-2009 08:36 PM

frost,

there's 3 pieces to the puzzle

Headers >> HFC/Test Pipes >> Catback

also, Longtubes = Headers and test pipes in one piece

dainedazz 09-22-2009 10:13 PM

these long tube headers that FI is comming out with in late October - November is the reason why i didnt get HFC's

dainedazz 09-23-2009 07:10 AM

I'll have mine up this weekend. Exhaust comes in tomorrow (according to tracking # it's one state over right now, ugh, so close!)

I purchased the 18" resonators and HFC's. I'm looking to do videos of both, possibly. Without a doubt I will do videos of the end result, but I haven't decided if I want to just install all at once (easiest) or to install just the exhaust, drive for a few days and add the HFC's over the weekend.

Regardless, plenty of new pictures and a video or two will be coming in the next few days.

spearfish25 09-23-2009 09:20 AM

I'd love to hear it with 18" resonators WITHOUT the HFCs if it's not too much trouble for you. Another member said he actually preferred the sounds without HFCs and was considering taking them back off. Either way though, vids would be much appreciated.

Nice Exhaust. SOUNDS GREAT .

I'm interested in the long tube headers. Hope to see results soon.

Good luck.

XwChriswX 09-23-2009 05:01 PM

The long tubes are gonna throw CEL's thought right? Since there's no cat?

I wish we had something similar to this. It does seem like there is an abundance of similar type setups for you guys. I would so love to do the Exhaust install myself if i had access to this.

Not long now:excited::excited::excited:

suppose to be using bungs so it doesnt throw CELs...no way to know for sure until they actually start testing the prototype...and that isnt hapening until they build the prototype...

kdo2milger 09-23-2009 05:04 PM

Yeah but even headers with bungs still manage to throw CEL's, mine does right now on my tC as well... But while its in the shop this Friday at Intense, I'mma try the steel wool IN the bung trick and see if that helps at all...

We are going to do everything in our power to keep the CEL light from coming on. I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I am confident will work. No one knows what will happen for sure until the headers are prototyped!

Soon my friends, soon!
