Definately, which is why I'm looking at F.I. so much

Ok, but if I'm looking to go the TT route later on, should I go ahead and get a 3" exhaust now, or enjoy the FI Exhaust until I actually get the TT then get the 3" exhaust at the same time?

NewYorkJon34 10-14-2009 10:30 AM

^Don't waste your money buying 2 different exhausts, I'm sure the GTM 3" exhaust won't hurt the performance you already have, but you won't see the full potential of the exhaust intill you Twin Turbo your Z.

XwChriswX 10-14-2009 10:43 AM

I just thought I might of seen Tony say at one time the FI exhaust will work with a TT setup as well..?

shumby 10-14-2009 10:48 AM

it will work with the TT but a 3" will work better.

I am still waiting to see what tony has to say about this working with the SC kit GTM will be putting out.

XwChriswX 10-14-2009 10:49 AM

If Tony can make up a 3" Exhaust then I'm sold, if not I may have to go with the GTM since I do wanna go TT one day..

NewYorkJon34 10-14-2009 10:52 AM

Im sure Tony can word this better then I can, but the exhaust will work with a Turbo setup. But a 3" exhaust flows the exhaust gases from the turbo much better then the 2.5" exhaust.

NewYorkJon34 10-14-2009 11:13 AM

How much more hp/tq should the long tube headers make over HFCs?

dainedazz 10-14-2009 12:27 PM

^^ thats what i want to know broski ;)

NewYorkJon34 10-14-2009 12:36 PM

I have a feeling after all 50 exhausts are made, the headers will start rolling out.

NewYorkJon34 10-14-2009 12:42 PM

XwChriswX 10-14-2009 12:43 PM

As long as I do if I order after you, I don't see why not...

dainedazz 10-14-2009 12:44 PM

i wish we get a discount.

All 50 first customers of the F.I. TDX CBE exhaust gets a 50% discount off F.I. Long Tube Headers

NewYorkJon34 10-14-2009 12:50 PM

The only issue I have with the header is that I hope the great sound that the exhaust provides does not get ruined but enhanced to sound even better.

If the headers are half the price of the exhaust, I will be happy.

I doubt that it would ruin the exhaust sound note. From Tony's works, i think he'd make this LT Header ENHANCE the sound of the exhaust. i want the engine to literally ROAR. i dont mind loud Tony :) like what he said before, it may come in options so we can all pick the one that pleases us.

my only concern about the LT Headers is that i hope Tony finds a way to not make it throw a CEL. i hate seeing CEL's.

NewYorkJon34 10-14-2009 12:56 PM

Shouldn't a defouler take care of that cel?

I'm with you, volume pleases me, and the CEL thing is money. If he can make it not trip, then its a done deal.

Doesn't always work if there is still good airflow... I put one on my tC when I put a Cat-Delete header on, and it still tripped... So I stuffed some steel-wool into the pipe to try and clear it.

Only to find out when we took it off to put the steel wool in, we found one of the wires had been ripped out of the sensor. So we figured that prolly had a big part in it lol. So we soldiered the wire in, and it's been 1500 mi so far with no CEL

dainedazz 10-14-2009 12:58 PM

He did say that he had a few tricks up his sleeve that he's confident that it would work ;)
i remember reading that a while ago but i remember things lol

XwChriswX 10-14-2009 01:04 PM

haha excited much?! yeah man it literally ROARS. all i'm gonna tell you is that when you get your goodies installed, your car will never be asleep again. lol! it will come to life!

its very loud on cold start. then it calms and quiets down when its warmed up so on idle its quiet but you hear her "hum" or "growl". but when you start driving her, it roars again :D

i have a friend who has a TT z33 and he has a loud exhaust and he says it annoys him at times cuz when he wants to listen to music, he cant enjoy it that much because of the exhaust lol. that's not a problem for us F.I. owners though, the exhaust is loud and sporty but you can enjoy the tunes when you drive ;)

Wow, thats so good you can admit that. That's big of you shum, +Rep!

dainedazz 10-14-2009 01:35 PM

idk if i said this before but i love how the exhaust POPS! it sounds so racing lol i <3 it.
i also love hitting the throttle hard lets say go all out on 3rd gear then @ like 7000rpm shift to neutral. it kinda UpRevs and it sounds sick! i like to think im driving a TT car and it plays as like the BOV lol.

imaginations are limitless :)

NewYorkJon34 10-14-2009 03:11 PM

DaineZ, Is there any reason you did not want to get the Carbon Fiber mufflers?

dainedazz 10-14-2009 03:14 PM

i just like the Shiny Rocket Cannons :D nothing against CF but i like the polished ones better :)

NewYorkJon34 10-14-2009 03:22 PM

OK Cool, I can't wait to rid of the quiet start-up sound of the stock exhaust, its like when I start my car its alil little loud for a second then gets real quiet. Everytime my friend turns on his 02 Camaro Z/28, its loud and intimidating, and I want the same sensation outta my Z. ;)

dainedazz 10-14-2009 03:24 PM

oh dont you worry about that broski.
you SHALL get that satisfaction of intimidating others pretty damnnnnn soon ;)

i remember when i was in your shoes i was all,:happydance: :happydance: :happydance:

lol.. thats gonna be me again when the Long Tube Headers come out ;) AHEM TONY :D AHEM

lol take it easy broski! hit me up if you have any questions ;)

dainedazz 10-14-2009 04:28 PM

i think i'm gonna go for rims first then the l.t headers
