Any feedback on road clearance of the muffler cans?

Looking at the pic it seems lower than stock pipes.

Tony told me the new design that they've been using for a few months now is a little bit higher than the older ones. Not sure what the clearance is though. I will get mine installed in a week or 2 but I'm at stock height so it doesn't worry me much.

Yeah, it hangs lower. Check out the end of the first post on this thread. It has a picture measuring the clearance on a lowered Z.

For what it's worth, I have not had any clearance issues with it, but my Z is not lowered either.

Doug&Michelle 11-02-2011 08:42 AM

I swear I'm about to go nuts! What number are we up to now Tony?

brucelidat 11-02-2011 02:17 PM

I am going to call him tomorrow. We are trying to get my install (#398) in for next Friday, the 11th.

limaecho 11-02-2011 02:54 PM

Tony - I have called your office and left a message as you are out of town. I am from Australia - interested in getting the 18" resonated system.

I have GT Haus and I feel its too loud for me. Its a good system but not for me.

The new design hangs a bit higher than the old one, but I've had mine on for over a year now (old design) and I'm lowered 1" all around and have never once scraped. Careful and correct approaches will save you.

My exact though, I don't want to think about correct approaches if it's not lowered, sometimes I drive rough without thinking about terrain.

Good to know that old one was 4" lowered, and new one should be higher.

Thanks

There have been a few times where you just zone out while driving then don't realize the curb/speedbump until you're right up on it and it's like oh ****!! skkkrrrreeeeeeecccchhhhhhh creep over cringing... No scrape.

Like a boss. :|

My cars dropped 1.5" and the cans seem plenty safe. It's mainly when you go over speed bumps that you want to make sure the axel hits it straight on as opposed to at an angle. So once the front lip gets over, you straighten out quickly.

The front of my car scrapes on everything if I'm not careful.

My front does the same thing. My dealer never installed the front sport lip trim which I'm glad, that thing would be gone by now :rofl2: I scrape that very bottom lip of the front bumper that sticks down, but I'm fine with that so long as the front of the bumper itself doesn't scrape. I also have some problems with being caught on a bad driveway exit that is like a /\ and no matter how much angle you have, you still scrape on the underbody...

So are you saying I shouldn't go over dips and bumps at an angle? Also, I have a lot of speedbumps in my parking structure. I usually go over them with just my passenger side wheel while my driver's side goes between the 2 bumps. Should I avoid this and just go over it squarely with both wheels after I get the exhaust?

You can angle over the front, but make sure the back axle his squarely. Going over with just 1 wheel is a really bad way to do so since you don't know exactly how far everything is. If you have split bumps, best way to do it is take the gap between the bumps down the center so you have the most clearance possible...

ZOMG one more month!

brucelidat 11-04-2011 05:33 PM

Talked to Tony today. They will be ready for me (#398) as soon as the 11th (next Friday). Now I just need to schedule my Uprev tune with Specialty Z and get it all confirmed and set up for the same day.

limaecho 11-04-2011 05:34 PM

Just got off the phone to Tony! Wow I have to commend him on how professional and helpful he was. He answered all my questions in detail including the shipping processes and the costs associated with it all the way down to Australia.

I have placed my order with him and will be looking forward to have it installed in my car.

I will be selling my GT Haus once I have received the CBE.

Thanks Tony once again.

Yeah, Tony is great. I harassed him with a ton of questions about every little thing before I pulled the trigger. If he was annoyed, he hide sit well, haha.

Honestly, I would say wait a little while after getting your exhaust put on before you go with a tune. Give it a few hundred miles to get good and broken in that way you get the best performance possible for your tune. Just my :twocents:

Your patience is greatly appreciated.

On another note, our goal for 2012 is this:

-A larger production facility. This will allow us to hire more qualified people and shorten all lead times.

-Employ more help in the office. This will allow us to advertise and market on a larger scale. It will also enable us to be more prompt returning emails and pm's. Side note, no matter how large we get I will always be accessible for all of my customers.

Lastly, stay tuned for a larger product line from Fast intentions, Inc. in 2012. Being at SEMA all last week has lit a huge fire under us! We have some very big things in the works.

Thanks to all of you...

Tony

Being a third generation business owner my only advise to you is to keep up with and over see your quality of production. Quantity is good but it will also doom you in the end if you do not maintain your quality. Only take on what your quality cantroll can over see. If you slip up there your just another jo blow on the street. Just my two cents worth and I hope you succeed beyond your expectations!!!

ZInferno0248 11-07-2011 09:44 PM

Tony,

Got your exhaust installed on my GTM Stage 1 SC 370, paired with your test pipes last month. Just wanted to thank you for all of your help and tell you that the car sounds and looks awesome. One of my friends (with a very nice 240 SX) followed me on the highway and said he thinks my exhaust looks like it is worth more that his entire car. He could not believe how reasonably priced it was and how incredible it looks. IMO, it is hands down, the coolest system available. I love it.

Matt.
