Tony, thank you so much for your help during my install. I faced some odd challenges (not Fast Intensions related) and you helped me through them!
Your HFCs and exhaust surpass my expectations. My Z sounds unbelievable, the way the Z should! #363 is installed. Unfortunately, it's in hibernation now for the winter. Uprev coming this spring.
Thanks again, your customer support is top notch!

Thanks for the comments! I have interior driving that I have to post also.

It's not absolutely omg mandatory, but it will help. Your best bet is to get a tune once you're done with all the performance mods you want to do. It will give you better results than just an ECU reset. :tiphat:

roplusbee 01-07-2012 05:29 PM

I am sure that the ECU would learn corrections without being reset, but it gives a fresh start so that it doesn't take as long (considering you have a lot of miles on your car).

F I installed today took 4 hrs with hand tools. Sounds amazing , already have 120 miles on it!!!!

Nicest looking 600 I ever saw lol. I wasn't so lucky with mine. 150Mph collision on the turnpike with a cab who wanted to be in my lane.

You do not need to do a re tune after the exhaust is installed! I have only seen a re tune absolutely necessary with the Stillen Gen III intakes along with our long tube headers and exhaust.

Most other combinations it is not required!

Thanks, Tony

Found the CBE on my doorstep when I got home from work yesterday. The packaging looks super sturdy!! I'm hoping to have time this weekend to do the install.. fingers crossed! Thanks Tony!! :)

Custom tune?

Hey all,
I currently have the K&N typhoons installed, along with F.I. CBE non res, and non res test pipes. Do you think I would benefit from a custom tune? Or do I even need one?

A tune after any mod will help. You may not see a massive boost in power, but it will help your engine run smoother and last longer due to having the fuel maps tuned to the amount of airflow you are increasing now.

XwChriswX 01-12-2012 02:23 PM

Tony, any update on my situation?

Is it necessary, no! Can you benefit from it, yes! You will get the A/F optimal, gain a little more power and more low end torque. You will notice the increase the most in the torque department.

Thanks, Tony

mrcoolguyface 01-12-2012 02:39 PM

OK so if one has no idea where a shop is to assist in a "custom tune"... How would I go about locating one? I googled speedshop, tune shop, and everything else I could think of, to no avail LOL... Tony, I replied to the PM as well...

The software they'll be using is called Uprev, so you can look for a licensed Uprev tuner in your area. You may need to go out of state... Check the local vendors that are here on the forum... I know NY has a few if you can make the drive. Usually will be a full day for dyno and driving and tuning.

coolguyface, the place i went to get the UPRev tune was R/T Tuning in Lansdale, PA. They are on this site, I would highly recommend them. I have Fast Intentions long tube headers & CBE with gen III intakes and im puttin down 322 whp.

How much did it run you to get the tune?

I believe it was around 5-600. If i remember it was 300 for the license and 200 for the tune. 5 fuel mappings. give them a call, very good customer service. (215) 855-5565

I plan on going back for an alignment also.

QVu 01-13-2012 10:32 AM

Freaking love this exhaust.

This gives me confidence that I can tag the 325whp mark which was my N/A goal.

Which Dyno was it on?

F.I. CBE, F.I. HFC, and Stillen Gen3 intake, Should I get uprev tune?

How much of a gain are we talking about? It would cost $350 (for tune)+ $300 (Nissan license). Total of $650 + tax

You will definitely benefit from a tune. If anything just getting it on the dyno to check A\Fs is a great idea. You will most likely find that your A\F to be on the lean side. Gains can range anywhere from 5whp to 15whp on the average.

Guys... I posted this in the Australian forums.. but this feedback needs to be posted here too :)

I think I am in love again with my car...words cannot do justice to the 18" FI Exhaust kit that I have installed in my car. Honestly Tony should be proud of what he creates because as an owner of one of his kits I am proud of it!

Anyone thinking of getting this CBE kit do not have any second thoughts at all...I have just moved from Stillen G3 + ERZ HFC + GTHaus kit >>>>> Stillen G3 + ERZ HFC + 18" Resonated Fast Intentions Kit. No rasp or crackle or any of that noise! Just smooth deep growl!!

Words won't do this kit justice so here are some pics and videos

The fit was perfect with not extra spacers etc needed. Everything lined up the way it should!! And the sound...like I said I am in love with my Z again. GTHaus was a good kit but not a good match for a convertible. Its up for sale now so check out my other thread in Car Parts for Sale section.

Also Kudos to John from Precision Mufflers in Croydon NSW for doing a fantastic job. He is very diligent with his work and certainly did justice to both the kit and the car when fitting it....perfect job!!

Is the lead time still 2 months?

gomer_110 01-15-2012 12:47 PM

Not to put words in Tony's mouth but when I just ordered my LTH and CBE this week it was 8-10 weeks.
