Long Tube Headers, 18" Res SS CBE

I received my new exhaust today (#380). I thought it required a signature to accept the delivery, but the box was sitting on the front porch when my wife got home. Luckily, she left work early and got home around noon. According to the website tracking, the box was delivered at 10:30am.

Did UPS screw up or is Tony no longer sending packages with signatures required?

Anyways, I will be installing the exhaust tomorrow after work.

Mine showed up at 10:30am too. Sat there til 4:30 when my girlfriend got home.

I'm #383 still haven't heard of any tracking number yet. I thought it would have shipped by now. I'm praying i'll get it by the weekend but that doesn't seem likely now even thought I live in CA.

Your UPS driver screwed up. Any package insured for over $1,000 is supposed to be signature required. I have heard of this happening a few other times as well.

I will address it with my UPS rep.

On a lighter note, I am glad to here the exhaust was still there. Once it is installed please do not hesitate to contact me with any feedback that you may have...

Exhaust was installed this afternoon. Since it has been raining all day and will continue for another couple of days, I was only able to start it in the garage. It sounds incredible. Exactly what I was looking for. The installation and fitment went very smooth after I managed to get the stock exhaust off. I had trouble with the bolts near the x-section. I ended up having to drag the compressor out and use the high speed cut off tool. Once that was fixed, installation went pretty quick. The tips were perfectly aligned and didn't need to be adjusted.

Just got done installing my FI CBE SS w/ 18".. what can i say? I love it!!!! installation took me 1 hr 20 including removing the stock one. WOW Tony and Fast Intentions, you guys are awesome, the product is so perfect, everyone at the shop was like "wow that looks good" or "who makes that" or " thats sounds awesome"...... so on and so on... nothing but good things. Thanks again Tony!!!!!!!!

Exhaust sounds Sooooooo DEEP!!! I love it, and it is only loud when I open it up and not when I'm cruising which is what I was worried about.

Two questions though. 1) when i got home i realized that the right muffler is sticking in more than the drivers side one did any else have this issue?
2) should i reset the ECU (disc the battery for 5 min)?

1. If you have any left over gaskets for the rear muffler section, try adding them to the left muffler tip to bring it out a little bit more. If you need more, Tony has no problem shipping you some. :tup: With having a 100% in house fabricated exhaust, its hard sometimes to get everything to match up exactly.

2. Yes, absolutely. Disconnect and let sit for a minute or two. Then reconnect, crank and let it sit and idle for about 15 minutes. That will let the ECU relearn the new flow. Then take it out for a good 15-30 minutes of careful driving. No funny business. Then after that you can take it for some hard pulls. :tiphat:

Its not bad, just take your time. I lifted the rear of the car and did the install that way. It makes the cat bolts a little difficult to get to but it's doable.

so i was gone on vacation for a week. what number are we up to now for people who have had theirs shipped?

We have shipped up to #388 and sold up to #417.

It took me about 3 and a half hours by myself but could have been easily done in and hour and a half. I jacked up the rear. Just about every other time i crawled under my car I forgot the correct wrench or forgot to bring the bolts or something stupid.

Just read the directions, prepared with the right tools and take your time.

Having a seconds person would have helped a lot. Especially to hand your tools when your under the car.

It's not 'bad'... but just helps with the learning curve lol.

got any rasp around 3k-4k rpm with your setup?

honestly i havent heard any. the only sort of "rasp" i hear around that rpm range is from the exhaust vibration really. that itself isnt much at all. its just raw, loud, and effing mean sounding. makes my Z sound like it should lol.

like i said before though i keep getting mistaken for being boosted from the F.I. hiss when i let off at low speed like pullin up to a redlight or stop sign lol

hopefully i'll have some time after work today i'll try and get a decent video on my new iPhone and see how it sounds. worst case i may have to go get the nice sony handycam and see if it takes any better quality sound then my phone.
