If I'm understanding your question correctly: Yes, the area where the two tubes are welded together is completely opened up to allow passage from one exhaust bank to the other. We utilize this X Pipe technology over a traditional H Pipe designs because it is much more efficient at balancing exhaust pulses between the left and right bank throughout the entire RPM range. This more efficient range of scavenging leads to more power and torque.

No cutting or welding is done by the customer. All of our TDX Cat Back Exhausts are ready to bolt on straight out of the box with simple hand tools. I hope this answers your question.

#1038 Installed

Outstanding fitment, no shimming was necessary.

Installation was extremely easy took about 1.5 hours, only bump I ran into was removing the evap canister cover. After a couple beers and 5 minutes of looking at it- I realized that my 2014 sport didn't have one lol.

My Z FINALLY sounds like its supposed to!

Thanks to everyone at F.I I will be a returning customer for sure.

My 2012 base+sport didn't have the heat shield for the evap canister either. I wonder which years came with them.
