By the report, it sounds like (pun intended) that MD is the better of the two. There is a lot to be said on how happy the sound makes you everytime you drive a car

Overall, the MD is a better choice for me. Sound was what I was looking for. Power, longevity, price, etc...I can't say which system is better for you Both are great!

Curious as to the whp you get with your setup, i.e. with E370, ART Pipes, MD intake manifold, drop ins & post MAFs.

Dyno video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SS0od6XlWyc

I lost a few HP after changing the exhaust, but I don't know how much is contributed by the changes in weather.

FI: (4th and 5th gear pulls)

E370 (blue pull) others were after a reflash

This dyno sheet does not have the temp readings, but when searching for weather conditions in that area on 3/25/12 it was about 72 degrees, 30.07in-Hg, and 76% humidity.

I only got in 1 pull with the Motordyne exhaust and no other changes; I was in a rush for time. The temperatures were a bit hotter on the E370 pull, but I provided Tony with the dyno files so he can compare them or do delta changes. After the pull I put another map on the car with the accessport and picked up a little bit of power. I still love the sound of this thing.

Sounds amazing boost, how much louder do you think the E370 exhaust is compared to an FI 12" resonated exhaust?

I'd say its probably closer to the non-resonated sound wise. A local member here has FI LTH's with a non-res FI CBE, and we might be at the same sound level (no proof).

I tell ya, ever since I added ART pipes to my TDXv2 (350z) I have never, literally never stop hearing compliments from totally random people who just get a small sample of the tone my exhaust gives off. This sounds pretty similar, and hope you enjoy it! Great write up by the way.

Here's a driving video of the Motordyne exhaust. Consists of a flyby followed by a spirited drive-by.
Ends with a few revs. (2K, 3K, 4K, 5.5K, redline)
Enjoy

Beautiful update! That's exactly what I was looking for. It sounds aggressive at wide open, but semi "tame" at regular throttle.

Hey, great write up. I'm looking to buy an exhaust for my Z now and this definitely helps.
Just wondering...
Were both dynos with the 2 different exhausts just the CAT backs or did you have other mods too? Also, does this exhaust have HFC or TP or neither?

Both were with the same mods. ART pipes, M370 manifold, post MAF tubes, and drop in filters.

Great write up. I'm a new Z owner. This is my daily driver and I'm looking to just get a nice deep sound from the car at WOT and spirited driving, but don't want drone, hissing, and a loss of low end torque (which is how you win light to light). With no other mods to the car, would this be a good choice for an aftermarket setup? Not worried about gaining HP, as long as I don't lose it. I often drive with my daughter in the car with me on the weekends, so crazy loud is not an option. Your thoughts.
