Default Power Gains Question!!

I've done lots of reading and research on the forum about gaining power from a CBE, or HFC, or Intake, etc. I noticed that it is said for the 370 the first mod for an example a CBE will produce the most gains and there after if you add like an intake that will only add minimal power compared to advertised numbers. This might be a dumb question but lets say I add a CBE, HFC, and an Intake all at the same time. Where will I recieve most gains or should I do mods separate or something?
Thanks

I originally had done a Cat back exhaust and Intake...I noticed some power with just the intake. I just added the HFC's and my car was running a little rough and lit up a check engine light. I had it tuned and the car runs much better. Very smooth acceleration, no check engine light, and better fuel economy.

How much of a gain do you see with those mods and a tune?

Does the tune help with throttle delay?

The car felt more peppy in lower rpm but it doesn't really do anything for the throttle delay directly. Its an inherent drawback of the drive-by-wire throttle.

That said, I never thought the throttle delay was very bad on my Z. I drove a ferrari 599 this weekend (a 1 hour "DFW drive your dream" gift from a family member) and it had more throttle delay than the Z . It was a blast to drive though.

You have made a very valid statement that rarely gets asked and mostly overlooked!

Breathing mods: intake & exhaust components cannot be compounded. They will compliment each other.

Let's say intakes give you 15 alone, HFC's give you 15 alone and a CBE will give you another 15 alone. All together you will not see 45 at the wheels. Those three numbers together would be compounded.

It is real simple proven fact. The more air (cold) air an engine can take in and the faster and more efiecent you can get the exhaust out, the more power you will make!

Now most people for a number of reasons like to only do one mod at a time. If this is the case, always start with the cat back exhaust system. All of these cars come choked up from the factory. Let that exhaust out and let that engine breathe. Sure you can do an intake first but whats the point if you are taking in more air but not letting any more exhaust out!

I hope this sheds some light.

Thanks, Tony

It should! The tune should up the torque and power along with getting the Air/Fuel ratio optimal. This will increase low end throttle response.

Thanks that makes a lot of sense. I will probably wait on the air mods for later(Intakes, Filters, etc). I will very soon be doing the CBE and HFC at the same time as you have said and I've read that are the most restrictive parts of the entire car. Will contact you Tony if I decide to go Fast Intentions set up. Thanks Tony for the information.

What mods can achieve 300whp? Are CBE and test pipes be enough?

Well...

We achieved just over 300 RWH with just our CBE on a (bone stock) 6MT. Check out the dyno chart below! When you look at it you will notice in the top right hand corner it says "SAE"! Now a days everyone posts dyno charts in "STD" form. STD will show higher gains!

Please do not hesitate to call me directly with any questions that you may have...

Thank you, Tony

Wow that's impressive from just the CBE. I have a 7AT not sure if gains will be more or less significant than the 6MT.

Very cool topic/thread. I was amazed to find out the mods do not compound in net hp gain. Please discuss further. @Tony (F.I.): Has anyone else experienced the same gains as you? 300whp with no other mods? That's amazing man. I only ask because for some reason, there are certain cars that respond very well to mods, more so than others with all else equal. So if that's not the case then, damn dude!
