Default how bad would it be to have a GThaus exhaust with a turbo mod.

My long term plan is to get a turbo in my car once I reach 36k miles. Just because I know if anything bad is going to happen to my car as far as recalls etc. It will happen within that amount of time. For the shorter term I am ready to do something about this wacky-doo exhaust. Its driving me nuts. It doesn't sound like a real sports car. Only the first 2 minutes the car is on from a cold start does it sound like a real car. Then it dwindles into a sedan-like drone. It annoys the hell out of me.
GThaus has the remedy. There's a black 7at on youtube with the GThaus and it sounds like a beast. This is my thing. I can buy a why pipe and hfc and just wait to get a turbo, to get a turbo exhaust. Or I can get the GThaus now. But if I buy the GThaus I am NOT Buying another exhaust till my GT falls off. That B1tch is pricey. If I went the GT route? How bad would it be for my turbos? And what is the best advice you guys would give me?

Don't forget the option of selling the gthaus if your turbo plans call for something bigger. They hold their value very well

it sounds like a quiet sedan like drone because well.... its the same engine thats in the maxima and altima and G and M.

Not necessarily. these cars are loaded with resonators in different areas depending on the model. Some are more muffled than others. I just don't think pulling out the resonators on this 370z will be enough. I think it just needs a better engineered exhaust.

i saw a TT 370z yesterday at a meet that had the GThaus exhaust.... i'm not sure what you are worried about why you'd have to sell it.

Ok... on the Z34, my research has shown that 3" exhausts are best to run on turbos and come highly recommended. I don't know why the bigger exhaust is needed for the turbo. GThaus runs 2.25". I figured it has something to do with turbos needing less backpressure from the exhaust? That's my educated guess. If this is so? Would more backpressure from the exhaust make the turbo less efficient?

i'm not sure about this exhaust in particular. i have a 2.5" exhaust on my 300zx. 3" downpipes definitely help with spoolup, but after the testpipe (which on mine are 3" to 2.5") there are definitely some top end gains to be had, but that comes with a lot of added noise. a lot of people i know with 300zx's get 3" exhaust then hate it after a while and switch back to 2.5"

I think the GT Haus is 2.5" at the inlets of the Y pipe and for sure 3" at the connector then 2.5 to the muffler.

I had Tony from Fast Intentions measure the GT Haus inlet Y-Pipe and it measured at 2.17 and little less than 3.00 at the outlet. The catback section piping is 3.00. To be honest I was disappointed about the Y-Pipe measurement. However, it stills sound like a beast and can live with it.

So on another thread under the exhaust forum, Motordyne explains why the Y pipe primaries are so small. In N/A applications, having smaller inlets closer to the engine help with scavenging leading to better gains than a 2.25 or 2.5 inch. I learned something new today but it explains the reason for the smaller inlets.

Wow, thank BladeZ. That was more info than I ever thought i'd get and I sure learned a lot from that thread and I'm not done reading it yet.

Thanks for all your contributions guys. I will go back and finish reading now.

Updating my final post by saying that I have changed my mind and will be going with one of the 3"inch turbo exhausts. Most likely either GTM or AAM.
