So on another thread under the exhaust forum, Motordyne explains why the Y pipe primaries are so small. In N/A applications, having smaller inlets closer to the engine help with scavenging leading to better gains than a 2.25 or 2.5 inch. I learned something new today but it explains the reason for the smaller inlets.
