Probably minimal but the only way to really know is via test.

Has anyone thought about smoothing out the throttle body where it meets the intake and making that lip smaller to smooth air flow? I did this with my old car and it made a very slight difference, but it's cheap and easy.

It would help for sure, but that would require testing to prove. I deal with 4 cylinders engines all day and I have seen 10%whp gains on our dyno with tuning from upgrading to a larger throttle body... 64mm to 70mm.

I'm not sure what the diameter is on the stock Z, but I could almost bet there would be some positive gain there.

A 64mm throttle provides enough air for a 2L 4 pot @ 225hp (factory throttle on Civic type R) I picked up 5hp with a 70mm.

So the throttle on the Z would have to be like sub 60mm to choke the 1.8L 3 Pot on each side

Actually they are the same and arent the same

The GT-R can be bored out much larger than the 370z ones. Max bore on 370z is around 64-65mm. GTR around 70mm

ps: 4 year old thread lol
