Well, I guess we'll all just sit here waiting :excited:

Celinicus 05-31-2009 11:46 AM

Their HFCs are competitively priced so I would hope that the exhaust would be too. We're not gonna see Amuse pricing here for sure.

drisko 05-31-2009 03:56 PM

Man, I really can't wait for this exhaust to come out. Assuming the dyno #s are decent and the tips don't stick way out, I'm going to buy it ASAP.

ZforMe 06-01-2009 11:56 AM

Need more updates please. X-pipe vids???

I still don't have the exhaust yet. If all goes as planned it should be here sometime this week.

Well, where the hell is Waldo? I mean we've been seeing bit-n-pieces of him, but no final composite. ;)

rreign 06-03-2009 09:01 AM

Mike, when you finally get the exhaust, will they have already done a dyno run with the CB only or are they going to do it in conjunction with the parts you already have installed? If they don't do the dyno themselves, I'm sure many of us would like to see the results from a stock point of view and with the HFC's. Is that something that you'd be willing to do?

CBRich 06-03-2009 09:49 AM

I agree that it would be nice to see some dyno results on a stock setup first. But a full setup dyno is also good since most of us will end up with a full IHE setup in the end.

M.Bonanni 06-03-2009 10:24 AM

Berk did not do any dyno testing when they had the car. What will happen is when the exhaust gets here I will do a baseline dyno as the car sits now with the HFCs, JWT intakes, and stock everything else. I will get a new baseline because 1. I have never dynoed after the pop-chargers, and 2. It has gotten a good 40 degrees hotter in Vegas since my last dyno. Once I get the baseline done I will install the Berk cat-back and do another dyno to compare.

rreign 06-03-2009 10:43 AM

Sweet, thanks for letting us know what you had planned. Can't wait to see the results

Celinicus 06-04-2009 10:30 AM

Has the idea of an h pipe gone out the window? Have they decided to just go with an x pipe? (I apologize if this has already been addressed)

M.Bonanni 06-04-2009 10:47 AM

If the X pipe works well I am sure they will just stick with that. If the sound/gains aren't as expected maybe we will see some H-Pipe testing.

Thanks for the update. I was excited to see something a little different but you never know. Maybe we'll see the GReddy Tic make it to production with the h pipe.

FWIW, Corvettes came with H pipes for years. All exhaust/header upgrades involved moving to an X pipe. GM finally did it from the factory starting with the 2008's...

BERK HFCs

Can I get a PM price for the HFCs to 22193 please!

BerkTech 06-05-2009 01:15 AM

Hi guys, sorry that we haven't had an update in a while. We got very busy here with round 2 of Time Attack this past weekend.

We'll try to answer some of the questions that have been posted here as best we can.

1. PRICE???? The MSRP of this exhaust will fall in the $1000-1400. I can't say for certain so I'm giving myself some buffer room, hence the somewhat wide range. The 370Z exhaust is essentially two single exhausts. If we made a single it would have a street price of around $600-700, hence my target.

2. H Pipe vs. X-pipe

The H pipe designs are typically made only for improvements in sound. They do very little for flow once you are over 4-5K RPM. The small cross over tubes simply aren't large enough to bleed the pressure over to the other side of the quiet exhaust. X-pipes enlarge the actual cross section of the exhaust pipe and assist in exhaust scavenging. It's very easy to incorporate an H-pipe design into our existing Ypipe so if we need to pursue that route then it can be done!

Thanks guys, and until next time Double Down should have prototype #1 in their hands for some 3rd party testing.

Also, since this has been brought up in another thread, whats the weight of your entire system vs. stock.

Great question Danny, seeing as the Stillen seems to have great gains in power but is super heavy.

EDIT: Josh from Stillen produced the real numbers, and their CBE is indeed heavier than stock, but not nearly as heavy as someone else had indicated at first.

CBRich 06-05-2009 12:55 PM

This seems to be getting close to production. I can't wait to see it on the DDM car.

Is it possible we will see a single exhaust for production? I wouldn't mind noise, power and less weight....though i would probably purchase the double with the HFC's

I wouldn't be able to give you the exact weights of the production exhaust but we should expect it to weigh in at the same or a tiny bit less than the Stillen exhaust. I don't see any reason why it would be heavier than 65lbs!

wstar 06-09-2009 12:48 PM

Bump, because I'm impatient and hoping for new news :)

Shift 06-09-2009 06:42 PM

Solus 06-09-2009 07:46 PM

Group buy maybe?

Solus 06-09-2009 07:46 PM

I am planning on the invidia Q300 but if this one will be out soon w/ a group buy I likely would get it instead.

CBRich 06-09-2009 08:18 PM

Now that's the kind of update I'm talking about. Run away scared then.
