All is good now with the car, and I will be trying to keep up with RCZ on mods, and sharing updates with everyone !

I don't anticipate that my issues will commonly apply to others...

So, I will provide general advice ... when making mods, expect inevitable setbacks... and ask lots of questions... ask vendors if they know the parameters of the application they designed for, or if they just are selling parts that fit together... e.g., one thing that concerns me a bit is that there are a number of oil cooler kits showing up now... are the lines and fitments designed to match the flow rates and pressures expected? are the in-line thermostats set appropriately? what is the expectation for initial quality and time to failure? all parts eventually fail... I've been talking with a mechanic that I trust a lot - he claims that we should all be seriously thinking about hard lines as opposed to braided lines for oil cooling... also, consider asking your installer to double and triple check their work, even if you have to pay a bit more... true whether suspension, engine work, safety equip or bolt on mods... none of us needs a part to fail at 100+mph (on the track)... work with parts suppliers and installers that you know and trust, and you can count on to do the right thing if something goes wrong

Typical oil pressures are 40-60 psi which is high but not extreme.

You're garden hose handles 40+ psi but those only seem to last a couple of years before they develop leaks.

I think hard lines would be nice, hopefully someone reputable will eventually make a kit with these.

Hard lines? Thats not likely considering where they have to run... Its better just to keep em SS.

Hard lines are not a bad idea, but they still need flex lines at the areas of movement or transition as the engine shifts about its mounts. It would be nice to remove and incorporate the steering cooler into a combination oil and steering fluid cooler utilizing the four mounting areas that are already on the car. You would shorten your line runs, and could use the same attachment locations of the steering fluid cooler factory lines.

I ran braided lines in both my RSA and 993 to the second cooler without failure. Note the lines were AN10's to cover flow. There is good braided line and then there is braided line. Some of the new braided lines have aramid fibers in the construction. Very strong and a bit on the high side, $13-$15 per foot.

Alright just got back from the shop. Got the oil cooler kit installed after a good 5 hours of fiddling with it. Nothing really went wrong or anything, we just took our time and we deviated from what Stillen intended the kit to look like. I just thought my take on it was more efficient. The only extra I had to buy was about 2 feet of hose. Maybe Stillen will like my design alterations enough to make it part of the kit. Thats the whole point of testing new products out right? Feedback to make it better and easier for everyone else.

Also, on a side note...I redynoed the car after the oil cooler istall. 3 Runs back to back with less than a minute rest. Car kept making more and more power. Temperature would NOT go over 180. In fact it was dead at 180 degrees all the way home...doing 90mph all the way home in 80 deg weather. No matter what, I couldn't get the temperature past 200 degrees. I would call this a complete and utter success. So the only things that changed since my last dyno run (on the same dyno, just moved to a new location) were Stillen catback exhaust was added and the oil cooler was installed. I don't care if you guys want to call ******** or not, but the car made back to back to back over 285. Best run was the last one we did at 295WHP.
