Default 300zx intake plenum

What do some of you think about putting the 300zx intake plenum onto the 370z VQ motor? It has bigger tanks to hold air and longer intake runners to each cylinder, meaning more air that is on standby for demand is that how it works?

Here are some pics next to a GTR manifold. Found these on twin turbo net

That would be a no. Longer intake runners will reduce midrange TQ. Same thing happens if you use the GTR intake manifold.

On a N/A motor. Long runners for low end. Short runners for top end. It has to do with the velocity and momentum of the air moving through.

Guess you'll just have to take the lead yourself cause that's not gonna happen lol

The stock plastic manifold is pretty damn efficient. It's very difficult to justify any other available option on a stock VQ motor. Many have tried. Unless it's for aesthetics only, in which case, you just get the CJM intake manifold

That's a good theory. The problem is reality.

Every time someone comes up with a new intake manifold design, it's a big hype fest until the production and then suddenly silence. Because they dyno it with zero gains or more often a loss in power. $1000-2000 for that is a tough swallow compared to the inexpensive plastic stock manifold.

Check out the AAM intake manifold trainwreck of a thread

Talk with other folks who have installed the GTR manifold and lost hp/TQ. They go back to the stock intake or the SOHO intake. You don't have to take my word for it.

There is nothing out there to improve over the stock manifold for N/A. Unless you go ITB. And that starts about 10K.
