Default 3" Short Intake + M370 Manifold vs 3" CAI + Z1 Manifold Dyno Comparison

I had a 2016 Nissan 370Z Nismo come in in October that was setup and tuned by another shop with some fundamental flaws in their combination. I had run this car, with their tune, on my dyno, I swapped out some key parts and retuned it and documented the gains.

Nissan 370Z Nismo 2016
BEFORE // Short ram intakes, Motordyne M370 Manifold, EPS throttle bodies, Headers, CBE, tuned on ECUTEK. 301whp/239wtq SAE.
AFTER // threw the intakes and manifold out, replaced with AdminTuning CAI and Z1 ported 370Z upper manifold, retuned on UpRev. 323whp/257wtq SAE.

Language NSFW, enjoy the subtitles.

sounds like the other shop just didnt know how to tune a car correctly.....

nismo with intake, mani, tb's, headers, and CBE with only 301whp?

also all that on a nismo and still only 323whp? bump that tune a bit it should have some more left.

It's a 7AT with SAE CF and MD headers which don't really do a lot for peak power in my experience. The #s are right where they should be on this dyno for the mods.

I retuned this car with the old parts combo it had on it and got 306whp out of it. It would not make any more with the short rams and M370 manifold.

every one is different. tossing out the short intakes probably helped the most just. getting the intake temps down a bit is a big plus.

I've found that TBs work best with headers.

EPS Tuning also does ported manifolds, they just ported the one on my G37 this weekend.

SAE makes a big differences, between 12 and 16 whp for the readings above. On a lot of the "glory" dynos with STD readings, I'm guessing he'd have seen closer to 340-345 whp. That's a big improvement. Nicely done Moncef!
