don't generalize. there are stickies in the Exhaust forums that have videos including sound of almost every possibility out there. obviously this is a new car and will most likely need to remain legal on the road. HFCs or Testpipes and a CBE are pretty much the only options. This post seemed very bland and as though the OP did no research before posting it, hence the "attack."

It has nothing to do with inside jokes... it has to do with common sense. It's not our fault if people make posts and requests and don't do any simple research. The forum is set out so that way you don't have to think. It's broken down into sections and then into sub sections and finally threads. And if you don't feel like looking through each one, theres this wonderful SEARCH feature that if you type in whatever it is you want. I'm 99% sure your going to get SOMETHING in the right direction of what your looking for.

As mentioned beforehand, it's just laziness. You don't even have to make your own thread if what your looking for is 'Owners Opinions'. Each owner of said exhaust has posted numerous threads commenting on their preferred setup. All you've gotta do is take the time to read. It's not that hard.

Well,

All sarcasm aside...

I just got the Invidia Gemini exhaust as well as the Berk Test pipes. At first I thought the set up was too loud, but after giving it a couple of weeks, I am very pleased with the tone, volume and cost of this setup.

At idle and cruise it is a little louder than stock. On throttle it sounds fantastic. I have not had the opportunity to hear the other ones available for the car in person, but from clips I feel that I got the best bang for my buck.

Hope that helps... and next time... search a little so we don't have to have three pages of people spending as much time telling you to search as it would have taken them to give a synopsis of thier exhaust setup...

Tony

with this setup, though the vagueness of the original post leaves a lot up to debate...

I guess it depends on "without spending a lot" means; I'd do the exhaust upgrades in stages at this point. I'm not clear on how much "bolder" or "louder" the OP might want to go, but the Invidia Gemini has definitely my vote for "bang for your buck" option. The F.I. is a great choice as well, although it's (a little) more expensive. Those are the two options I'd be considering. Berk is an upcoming one, but as it's not production ready, I can't honestly recommend it yet.

See how you like the exhaust note after putting a new CBE, then you can decide if you want RTPs or HFCs...or maybe even the LTHs.

Side note: damn guys, seriously?

I hate it when people do this. Do you guys really have nothing better to do than ridicule someone for asking a valid question? Has it ever occured to you that maybe he did do some research, or that asking the question at an Z owner's site does qualify as research? This type of behavior is flat out trolling.

To the OP... check out Fast Intentions, they have an amazing exhaust that has won over many Z owners.

There have been many similar posts with similar requests in the past, so I can see why some of us old timers who have seen every post since jesus bought his 370 would get a little tired of seeing the same stuff over and over, but in the spirit of being helpful, the cheapest way would be to remove your cats or mufflers. Some shops won't do this because of the legality, but many will. This will be pretty loud. I'm not sure how loud you want to go, you weren't too specific. Hope this helps, feel free to search through the exhaust threads we have, they are plentiful.

I must say I'm a bit upset with some of the responses here. You have to take into consideration that NOT EVERYONE is as savvy when it comes to internet or these forum softwares. You'll be surprised how many people gets lost in these forums and pm me to guide them to the right direction. I do that EVERYDAY without any grunt or being annoyed.

I'm sure OP is a mature guy ( judging by his profile info "retired") and being serious and asked a legitimate question. If he asked this question in my350z or other Z forums, "go search noob" or "facepalm" "let me google that for you" etc are typical "expected" responses. But on the370z, I thought I have worked hard to keep my forum different than those other ones . We want to keep a friendly environment where we welcome everyones questions. EVERY TIME, I welcome a new member in the "Introduction" section, I clearly tell them "Please feel free to ask any question you have and we will do out BEST to answer it". If this is what they get when they DO ask it, then i must say "I'm disappointed". If it's a new question, try to answer it. If it has been answered before, point them to the right thread/post. It's very frustrating when you ask a question and it turns into a big post fest with no real info in it. This is one of the big reason I opened this forum where you can post a topic, get the answer and you don't' have to deal with off topic/sarcastic replies that you get in those "other" Z forums.

Op, since you said cheap, Frost does bring up a good point.

You can hear some of the available exhausts here: 370Z Exhaust Sound Clip data base

F. I. exhaust Fast Intentions exhaust is here!

Berk exhaust Berk Technology 370Z Cat-Back exhaust GB 1&2 Updates!
which currently on GB only for $995!

Stillen exhaust Stillen Exhaust with Berk HFCs

+/- $1200 should be the cheapest getting a good exhaust that will make your exhaust sound bolder, louder .

I apologize to the OP, I got caught in a moment. Do not redirect your exhaust into the cabin as you will die. I will stop and go behave myself.

For a cheap increase in volume replace the cats with High flow cats (HFC's), and if even more is desired replace the exhaust with the Berk, Stillen or F.I. Exhaust.

Well said AK - I do not mind the fact that the OP is asking for advise... I just mind how quickly people are ready to jump on his throat. I always felt this place was different than the other forums I frequent (or should I say have frequented)... I just hope and pray that this place never turns into one of those. We are here to help educate ppl about our cars - show off our creativity and help others learn - we are NOT here to make ourselves feel better about someone else's shortcomings...

I agree with the above. It was the vagueness of the OP that invited the carnage. I lurked on this site for days before I even posted anything.

I didn't really want to mention the different exhausts since he was looking for the cheap. I don't consider any exhaust for this car cheap when some of the american ones go for ~$500
