It really depends on how much is that extra hp worth to you. Quote:

BTW, I need that S/C update with LTH before i sink my teeth into this beauty!
|
Thanks guys, Tony looking forward to your response.
I am mainly wondering if I should still expect the same improvements in throttle response and stuff you would see with a CAI and no exhaust modifications? It seems the headers free up just about all your pent up horse power, but horse power alone isn't the only factor. I won't be doing anything to my car during the winter so I have until summer to research these things so I am trying to figure out where all my money is gonna end up :rofl2:  :ughdance: |
Finally got my car tuned this week and thought I would post what I found.
I took the car to UpRev and did a few pulls with just the LTH and Fast Intentions TDX non-resonated. It produced 301hp/246tq and the air/fuel ratio was perfect no need for a tune. Jared (the tuner) was impressed with the computers ability to adjust for the higher exhaust flow. Then we put on the Stillen G3 and did a few pulls. It produced 310hp/251tq before the tune but, the air/fuel was way out. Then he tuned it and it still produced 310hp/252tq but corrected the air/fuel ratio. So basically I picked up 9hp with the Stillen G3 ($550) and a tune ($450). Unless your willing to pay about $1000 for 10hp its not worth it. |
Did your tuner not touch your ignition timing tables?
How'd the overall power change? Do you have overlaid graphs? |

Yea UpRev uses a Dynojet. Their printer was not working (go figure) so they're supposed to email me the data. When they do I'll post them with some video. He did adjust the timing alittle as for the power I only picked up 9hp from when I drove in there so I don't really feel a big difference but, it does seem to run a bit smoother and the tone of the exhaust has changed a bit.
|
Can you feel a difference in throttle response, etc, since you added the intake? Does it rev up quicker or anything, or does it feel basically the same as it did with just the headers?

I am thinking of getting rid of the LTH, I got pulled over by a cop and have a week to put the stock cats back on -_-.
I wonder how much people would give for my LTH. I guess I could buy HFC instead, how much do I love in terms of POWEEEEEEEER and noise. |
How are people getting pulled over with these. Don't romp on it until you know the coast is clear. And if a cop is behind you baby thr car and they won't smell or notice a thing..

Call me as soon as you are ready to at least leave a deposit... Thanks, Tony |
Just my :twocents: here, but if anyone needs to get a hold of Tony/FI then definitely call the number listed in his sig. He may not check the forums for periods of time, but I know from my personal experience that he will at the very lease return your calls. I had some questions for him on the day I was doing my install (weekend) and he got back to me pretty quickly.
BTW, I've had mine for about 6 months and I still love 'em |

i have ordered the cbe and long tube headers and on both times i have called he promptly answered and took the time to explaind and review his products, he ensures he is not upselling a product but making sure you get what you are looking to accomplish out of your Z, and perhaps one of the biggest differences is that you get to speak with both the owner/manufacturer/and user when you call tony, you are not dealing with representatives who are just there to type a transaction but with TONY! anywho, i havent even gotten my exhaust or headers and im already impressed, im certain i will be that much more of a F.I fanboi as soon as i get them installed.:driving: |
I want to buy the headers now, I'm ready. I'll have to check out your payment plans first tho.

I did not buy the LTH , but remember talking directly to Tony when he first advertised them, got to admit, seemed a stand up guy and answered all my questions.
Dont deal with the Monkey when you can talk directly to the Organ grinder. |
mmmm organs :yum:

Sick puppy ha ha

I've had these headers for a few months and love them. However, recently its come into question on whether the LTH's plus a straight pipe 2.5" exhaust is to free flowing and takes away some torque. Not giving out names but a member on here made close to the same numbers as I did but he had a fatter torque curve. However, he had a manufactured CBE whereas I had homemade straight 2.5" plumbing. He also had intakes and pulleys, I have neither. The numbers weren't alarmingly different but just wondering what you guys think about it being to much flow.
