Which pump do you suggest for the transmission cooler? You do need one don't you?

That Transmission cooler is actually designed for an automatic transmission car, therefore no need for a pump.

We have a rear diff cooler we will be releasing soon, that kit comes with a pump.

For those looking at a cooler this is a good price. You can easily drop $400 in parts dropped at your door in a box.

Nice to see the thermostat in the filter adapter. I know the mocal piece i used in my last project set me back a couple hundred $'s alone, and this is more compact!

^^^ Yea a lot of companies don't offer this in their oil cooler kits, when in fact it is important to have.

Nothing like 6 or 7 quarts of cold oil hitting the cooler at 7000 rpm's. If you are lucky only a fitting joint will pop. If you don't have a thermostat you definitely need to exercise a little patience while warming up the engine. You should really do that anyway.

How does having a cooler installed affect doing oil changes? When you remove the filter do you blow compressed air into some spot on the sandwich plate to force the oil back out of the cooler? And then how does the refill process go? Refill the stock amount, fire up the engine for a minute, then top off again with the cooler filled? I assume the added complication of the thermo plate means the change has to be done hot?

I asked about this in one of the Stillen cooler threads too, haven't seen any answer.

You would change the oil just like a regular oil change. When you change your oil you aren't getting all of the oil out of the engine, just the majority of it - same thing with a cooler.

Has anyone here used this kit (the GTM oil cooler) on the 370Z yet? I understand it's universal, just curious if anyone has experience installing it and what it entailed (which side you had to mount on, did you need to fab a bracket, or just a matter of drilling some holes and using the bracket in the kit, etc?).
