It's very much so possible Ryan. I understand what you're saying I think that most people think that the convenience items (I.e. built in BoVs, speed sensors, and internal gates) are the only way you can go with these turbos; when in reality they can be modified for all of the traditional turbocharged "creature items". There are options to build a recirc system in the charge piping as you are understanding. Personally I would say its kind of one of those "six-half dozen-another" deals to either cut two holes in your charge piping and weld to flanges plus purchase external charge air valves or do as such tony did and grind the clearance for what you need to make the aftermarket designed iteration of their rapid vent and bolt them right in place of the current factory vent. Personally, it's kinda nice to have seen what tony has done and pulled off here because its showing us once again that there are plenty of aftermarket support for these turbos just as a traditional PTE or Garrett turbocharger has.

Ok now I understand what you were trying to say. I think the only possible issue with that scenario is that if you do put a dual port on the charge piping than it would most likely be done post MAF and that could cause a rich condition since the ECU would have accounted for the air already whereas the EFR CRV design vents right back into the turbo inlet keeping the MAF system undisturbed. I think when I said no longer possible I should have specified in the way the EFR CRV was designed.
But, someone please correct me if I am wrong because I am a little new to this turbocharging business after all. :) |
Just a few more things left to do..

Q - Will there be a presale?
A - Yes! We will be offering a 370Z presale to members of this community only (we will also be offering a presale of the 350Z version of our twin turbocharger systems on another forum). The details of the presale will be released shortly but bottom line - only members of this forum will be eligible and there will be a discount offered. The presale will only last for a short period of time and will be limited to an set number of systems. Is this still a thing!? Or did I miss it :( :ughdance: |
@AMM; Whatever happen to developing a kit for the AWD platform?

Good friend of mine made 510awhp in his 911. He expected a lot more, but when you pulling busses on a 600whp z06. Does that dyno even matter? I would think not lol. 11 PSI tune on a VQ37HR is power. Whether it's 500whp or 600whp. Only thing dyno is truly used for it making sure you have all the tools you need to make adjustments for clean pulls. Numbers can be so irrelevant it's all about tune and health of the engine. Even I get caught up in the number game, but end of the day all I care about is healthy power. |
^ Totally agree that reliable power is best and that the dyno is a controlled environment for the tuner to work magic as opposed to WOT down the streets, I mean tracks.
I was just trying to add to jwick's response to GeauxTigers1 question as to why everyone's 'number' varies. |

Fuel can definitely play a factor as well. |

Someone once told me, "if I want more power i'll do a shell 104 octane tune". Replied, "Yea try taking the tune out of town tell me how that works out lol". I want a tune for the average pump. Hunting down $7 gallon fuel with limited places to fuel isn't my idea of a weekend warrior. IMO, That's more like a dyno queen that drives his car to event once a month. |
This is all amazing info! Wish I could quote every one of you. Much more info than I expected, freakin love this place! ;) Thanks everyone, added the q's to add at my project consult coming up!

I believe I did have a great advantage at getting over the "600whp" mark at the time. I did choose to upgrade to a automotive 340 fuel pump and 1000cc injectors, with the cjm return lines. I think that alone gave me a high chance in achieving my goal of 550whp. I do also have a tomei titanium single exit exhaust. I don't know how much of a difference it would have against a dual setup. On top of that when it was getting tuned, the weather had a nice chill that day. Roughly 40-50 degrees maybe less, and then I had Jon Parhams awesome secret tuning skills. ;)
So I kinda knew I was gonna get decent numbers at the time but I really wasn't expecting to hit over 600 on 9.5 psi at all, it blew my mind. Guess I was just lucky  |

That's the same setup Charles has on his car expect for the turbo system. Right now i'm GTM TT, 650 CC, 255 walbro. If I do a CJM S1 Fuel return and 11 PSI tune on 93 octane. Like to think 580 whp is achievable. |

Also a key point to note is the over 600 number was a fifth gear pull. The fourth gear pull, which is what most of us report, was 589 if I recall properly. Edit - Again not knocking just trying to point out differences that could account for a high number. |
