I am very pleased.

Hello Guys

My 370Z has been running for 3 years and 18,600 miles with no problems
(OK! A ball bearing was replaced under warranty of my Tuner!)

Now the project of new intercooler is coming.....

Stay tuned

Ivo

Would appreciate some advice on the following, please:

Planning to get the Stillen SC kit in a few months but already purchased BERK HFCs and Stillen cermaic coated Headers very recently, and now don't know whether to install them or shipping them back to Z1.

I've been getting confusing advice as to whether the Header and HFCs will be good or bad for the SC kit.
Have heard Stillen strongly recommending against the headers (loss of psi and lean A/F), as well as, headers working well with the kit. And HFCs not being able to take the extra heat.
I am seeing some member here running header+HFC with the SC kit.

Any advice?

My advice is keep stock headers and cats. I had HFC's and one cat blew after a few hundred miles. When I went back to stock cats per Stillen, I made more power also. A few other's I know personally also lost power when going from stock cats to ART pipes and went back again to stock cats to get the numbers back.

Check this out!

Thanks diego@vossen. Very enlightening and helpful indeed.
It just puzzles me why in the name on science would a better flowing/more efficient header/cat make the SC lose power.

Either way, I'll try to return/resell my brand new Headers and Berk HFCs.

Don't quote me but I read that it's has to do with the forced induction causing blow by in engine from the lack of backpressure (free flow from test pipes/hfc).

I probably have it half correct. haha

Eventually your stocks cats will burn up and need to be replaced though.

My idle fluctuates when I accelerate and then start slowing down. During idle it's pretty consistent.

Agree with Diego send them back to Z1 and use the extra funds torwards the SC kit. An Stillen will tell you themselves also to not use HFC's or headers with their SC.

I have Motordyne art pipes but stock headers. I'm running 415/310 on 93 and around another 20whp with 100LL. However I had 2 invida test pipes break and 2 cbe tanabe break at the welds. Also make sure you get a strong fuel hose that attaches to your fuel pump. I had to get a new engine because mine was severed I ran lean. Make sure you get an air/fuel gauge to monitor.

Have you switched to coolant yet? I know you said you were running water and water wetter and that might be causing the issue. Coolant raises the boiling point of water and if the pure water (and water wetter) is boiling you would be getting air bubbles in the system. This could affect the idle as the ISC is affected by coolant temps (air bubbles going through the ISC can cause erratic idle).
