Get a replacement PCV valve ($15), drill it out from behind so it is just an open nipple, put a breather on it, cap off any open hoses and see if the problem goes away. If it does, you have a crankcase ventilation issue and you can reference multiple threads on how best to address. You may continue to see smoke for a few miles as oil in the intake system works its way through.
What does it mean if it made the oil burning issue worse? |

Oil burning as in seeing smoke or in having to add oil? If it is the latter, you need to identify where your oil is going...
1. Past rings -> crankcase (not an issue with open breather) 2. Past valves -> into exhaust (I think unusual in our engines) 3. Past turbo "seal" -> into exhaust (could be excess resistance in return line, increased air intake resistance, decreased exhaust resistance, oil too thin) |

Drive more, post less. This is where this thread has gone!
Guess it is time for an update: Hit 7k since installed, second oil change looked great. This will be going in for UOA this week, for sure. Went through everything, nothing leaking, melted, or any other cause for concern! Converted the front over to a NISMO(along with rear), no fitment issues with the NISMO front end or underpan(oem). I still have not one problem yet, call me lucky or call Tony/Seb/Charles a trio of wizards! But the car has been turn-key, oem reliable 100% of the time I have had it! I also took the car to a gt500 event at Club Auto here in San Jose, numbers were as advertised; 611/556@12.6psi ![]() ![]() I am so glad to hear about all the new builds and can do nothing but recommend F.I., Specialty Z, CJM and of course e85! Stay boosted my friends! And congrats to EVERYONE recently getting boosted(not just the F.I. guys)! My boosted Z has quickly become the love of my life.
