GOD FORBID i have to drive a lousy 600hp car for 25 minutes. ruins muh day.

Ohhhhhhh, ok.

What if you ran a tune for 91-93 octane? What would happen if the gas is even 50% E85, you should be ok, no? BUT when you go back to E85 you'd have to run it dry

And E85 isn't consistent to begin with, so do you tune rich every time because there is no flex fuel kit yet?

Meh the winter batch within my area has been 78-82, but at work it's almost always 83! At work they run out like all the time lol. Service vehicles use so much.

I think it's a very bad idea to run a certain fuel with another fuel's tune, even mixed. Normally they drain the fuel system before they put in a different fuel for a different tune. You don't want your car to "run" dry. I've done that on the track due to the stupid "dots" fuel gauge.

Let me step away from what is professional to recommend, and insert a little bit of "what you can get away with".

I have run my tank nearly empty with no E85 station within range. Added a couple gallons of 93 octane, and (carefully) went on my marry way... running my one and only tune, my e85 tune.

The side effects... the car will run too rich. However, closed loop feedback from the O2 sensors picked up and fixed this within a few seconds, and the car was perfectly driveable and ran clean A/Fs for part throttle.

This would *NOT* be acceptable for aggressive driving or going into boost at all. The ignition timing on higher load would be too aggressive for 93 and could cause immediate engine damage.

The point I am making is that if you find yourself in a SOL situation, the car WILL run and DRIVE without causing immediate damage or long term effects if you are VERY careful. But you get into the throttle too much and you can kiss your motor goodbye.

You will want to run the tank practically dry and refilling fresh with E85 before driving it hard again to make sure you pretty much got rid of the piss water. But you are not stranded on the side of the road if you absolutely cannot get to E85.

Yes you need to empty it out as much as possible. Honestly just get like 10gal or more in tanks. I carried a 10 with me and hardly used it. Trip was 350 miles with about 3 hours of traffic. God that sucked. But once I got out if traffic, you bet your ***. I was having fun on my way home, still managed a decent mpg.

Or you can drive home on a gas/low boost, then COMPLETELY EMPTY YOUR FUEL SYSTEM (not just tank) and swap over, but where is the fun in that?

I agree to an extent.

If you have an A/F gauge, and the car wasnt tuned to the absolute brink of ignition timing... then you have a little margin to work with.

I constantly watch my A/F gauge so I will immediately notice if something goes wrong. I also dont have my ignition timing bumped to the very last degree of making power, so I know it has a couple degrees of wiggle room for less stable fuel.

So I suppose I would say that it depends on how "in-touch" you are with your tuning and monitoring it. If you are a set-it and forget-it guy and dont want to even think about it... than I agree just drain that tank and do a clean swap.

Thanks bro, very appreciated. All the hard work was worth it. We knew that from day #1. Sometimes we wanted to get off of the bus at certain bus stops but feel like the bus has almost arrived at it's final destination. Once the kit is fully operational for the 7AT and G37 Coupe than we can call it a success.

Off topic, download the app called "What's App." I will text you some pics via WiFi.

Ok, back on topic!
