Yep that's the point! With my cf plate frame you won't see the T for Texas part, which is perfect! I'm glad they declined my TTZ plate, this one is so much better!

fuct 02-11-2014 08:44 AM

was TTZ taken? or did they no allow it?

cycy89 02-11-2014 01:22 PM

They didn't allow it..

fuct 02-11-2014 02:33 PM

TT like pee (urine)? thats silly

Probably because they think you're trying to be clever and spell "titties".

TopgunZ 02-11-2014 03:03 PM

I think they are looking at TT's like titties..... Which we all love as much as turbo's.

WTH?? Ive never heard a car flutter at idle either. Especially at rev's that low. What kind of monstrosity has FI built? I like it. :tiphat:

However, I do not like flutter. Some people purposely try for this sound. The turkey call is not for me. Is it an 11lb spring in the BOV's? I have a 9lb that solved my Powerlab kit flutter and turned it to a nice single purge. But it did open up a tad under vacuum.

@ faceglide. Putting into their builds? Like what anyone on the FI TT list is planning? Mine is wrapped up mostly in my sig.

VSS370z 02-12-2014 09:19 AM

All this F.I.TT pornography is too awesome, can't wait for that magical phone call from Tony. :happydance:

TopgunZ 02-12-2014 01:00 PM

Tony,

Have you fitted any of your kits with turbo blankets? Do you recommend them?

Not that I know of. I have yet to notice any real heat soak either.

Faceglide, thank you sooo much for allowing Dan to take me for a ride in your car. First of all the car is beautiful! Love the wheels! Second that thing is a beast even on low boost. You def have a sleeper car there! There's gonna be some exotic owners saying WTF when they get crushed.

No problem bro! Hope you enjoyed the ride! I certainly wanted a very unique Z and am really happy with how it's turning out. It will definitely maintain a sleeper vibe, but the idea is that when you take a second look at it, you realize it is a complete monster! Wife picked out the color, once you take out the chrome and silvers, it turns into a very wicked color. I love it! They don't know bout that black cherry tho!

Car put down 610hp @ 12psi today....still with these baby potato's and the 2.5" resonated FI exhaust. Yeoza!

Come join us in the FI TT hot tub! The water is warm, the mood is chill and the boost is crazy!

Hotrodz 02-12-2014 10:00 PM

Yup just got back from taking the wife her keys so she could close up the shop she works at. Anyway I let her drive the Z and I followed in her car. Man it's hell being in love and lust at the same time. The only thing better than driving my car is listening to it and trying to keep up with it. :p

Def enjoyed the ride dude. Just wanted to keep hearing that BOV. Definitely looking to join everyone in the FI TT hot tub...as long as it isn't all dudes :p I know I don't need to tell you this, (more for others) but you absolutely did the right thing sending your car to FI and having Specialty Z do your tune. I can't speak for other shops, but I can't imagine anyone could ever be better with this kit. They truly care about every aspect of the build, top to bottom.

Btw, might I recommend you invest in a radar detector very soon :) and a blendmount. (IMHO go with the Valentine One, pricey, but worth every cent, just like the FI TT kit :tiphat: )

Enjoy bro, look forward to reading your review.

DEpointfive0 02-13-2014 12:55 AM

Damn you all. I want a ride... (Escort Passport 9500iX or Max, lol)

I run passport 9500ix, Hit 180mph few days ago. Turbo feels Amazing! I love my 6th gear pulls :P. :driving:

Hotrodz 02-14-2014 10:11 AM

Wow, you are wild man. I had to stop at 150 when my undertray was making more noise than I was comfortable with. It could not handle all the turbulence.

I'm at the Nissan Stealership getting an alignment, a deal at $70. Every mechanic in the shop has come over and checked the car out. It's like moths to a flame!

Alignment? I have -3 camber front and back lol. Fit those large tires and tuck them in. :driving: R888 on order :)

1slow370 02-14-2014 12:16 PM

Wow you know you are wasting a lot of rear grip at -3 right? might as well just get factory rubber at -0.5 with that much camber
You know it adds MORE rear camber when you accelerate right? your probably at around -6 or -7 on the gas

Faceglide, there might be a few people curious about your impressions on your drive home :) who knows maybe you didn't even stop driving and are in Canada somewhere by now or the North Pole :d

Impressions? its a TT Z? I'll put money on it being like all the other driving opinions on a TT z, full of "OMG's" "it's a totally different car" "power everyewhere" "traction? what traction?" "still drives like stock" and all the other stuff you hear from person who finally has hp in a car that is lacking.

Fair enough, I can say all these things, but you have said it for me, so thanks! However I do own a 650hp 2011 gt500 and a 380 hp golf-R, so it is not like I am coming from rags to riches. This car is extremely violent, I will give it that. It hits HARD at 3000rpm, and does not stop. I have not touched the high boost, so I am topping 11psi, which is right about 550hp on the latest tune.

Anyways, so I drove the car home last night, e85 and all. So let's get right to it.

I put about 400 miles on it in all. 50 in traffic. Car was perfect, temps, fluids, no hesitations, all that. So I will hop into specifics. The car is dead silent, no noises, no creaks, whistles or hisses. I made 2 stops(thanks to Tony's quesadilla) and checked everything, perfect.

First, the boost in this kit. Yeah, if I set cruise control at 75-80 mph, it will make boost....lol. I thought it was amusing. I don't drive like a maniac and the I-5 has CHP on it like fly's on ****, but you but bet your *** that I pushed it hard around the gilroy canyon/resevoir area, response is uncanny, car is fast.

e85. I made the whole trip on a full tank. I made 20.8 mpg all in all, including the traffic. I suspect this car to have about 21-22 freeway, since I was pushing it pretty hard. With my setup, the car is pretty quiet, I heard ZERO detonation, none. The fuel system works perfectly, no hesitation anywhere, fuel pressure was watched most the ride and was rock solid.

HOWEVER, fuel starvation was hit as I was pulling into the e85 station near my house. I had about 2gal in tank(fill was 18gal), and I was going straight. So yes, e85's volume will make fuel starvation much easier to run into. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A FUEL STARVATION SOLUTION ON e85, I suspect a hard right at over 1/4 tank to easily cause it. That being said, the engine was fine, did its thing and hauled *** after refill.

That's about it. It's Valentine's day so I will likely post my review and maybe some more info on just what this kit does tomorrow morning.

tl/dr: the car is perfect, insanely fast and efficient. gets 20+ highway mpg on e85, ZERO issues, P-E-R-F-E-C-T

TopgunZ 02-14-2014 03:14 PM

What?? 22mpg freeway and 20 avg on E85 and boosting? That seems too good to be real. I really hope your not using the on board mpg readout from the car. That thing will be WAY off. It works off of the amount of pulses the injectors are making and not real time data. Your 1000cc's are spitting tons more fuel per pulse than the stockers.

FYI. I was getting 12mpg in town with E85 in my 350z. I cant imagine this car is that much more fuel efficient. Even on 91 octane I am getting 18 mpg in town with my 370 and 22 on the highway.

I was shocked myself. I am pretty sure everyone knows the readout is useless once you change injector size. I used the trip odometer and full tank to full tank minus fill to determine this.

A little more detail:

I had a 2gal gas tank with me, filled half way.

Whole trip was 393 miles, of that:
*~50 in traffic, literally 2 hrs of traffic: avg speed 25mph
*~30-50miles in 2-4th gear, usually about 10psi. This was the San Luis Resevoir/152 gilroy approach. Real fun drive, can get into it, turn and all that. RADAR DETECTOR A MUST, but very easy run, meaning you can go apeshit on throttle

At refill i put in 18.4 gal, meaning I used 18.4+2 to go from full to full, therefore i used 20.4 gal for a 393 mile trip.(Don't mind me, I typed this out *** backwards earlier)

393/20.4= 19.3 mpg. Now I am saying highway avg speed 70, I wouldnt be surprised to get more, hence the claim. But 19.3 is amazing. I was expecting 12-15 at best. Mind you, this is the first outing with a brand new TT installed, so one can assume I am not driving for MPG and you would be right. IF i tried, it would be pretty neat.

I am going to say that my tune and fuel setup are doing a great job. But to say everyone would expect 20+ is a lie, but apparently this car is there. Remember, it was cool and clear last night, so may be a best case scenario, but this is what I got for the trip.

Lets not get caught up in MPG, the car rapes apes. I merely mention it because alot of us are going e85 and I wanted to share how I feel about it so far. Just took it to the bank. OEM DD capable indeed! It is moist out, but I managed :happydance:

The CJM kit is holding up perfect. Those sexy blue rails, Fuel Pressure is rock solid and the car pulls smooth from 0-7000. Seb's tune is amazing thus far, the man knows how to do e85 and am happy to have his tune on this thing.

While the response is very "cliche", I think anyone is justified to say what they want, how they want. Modding a car is not groundbreaking, we shouldn't expect everyone's response to it to be as well.

TopgunZ 02-14-2014 04:47 PM

Well, E85 here is only 2.89 a gallon. If I can get close to 17 mpg I would actually be saving money at the pump. All that plus race gas safety with a cooler charge. Win win win.

Very impressive btw.
