No worries buddy, you do not owe me an apology. You never were on the list so there is nothing to cancel. I cannot fault you for the direction that you have moved. Be fore warned though, the GTR is a MUCH more expensive car to mod. I speak from experience, BTW we are working on our full exhaust system for the GTR. Let's talk over the phone when you are ready to move that direction. At least hear what I can offer you. In addition, SpecialtyZ is doing some great things with there 2014 and E85. Give Greg a call, he knows his stuff!

Thanks, Tony

Now I have to get an Instagram.... and I'm the guy who always makes fun of Instagram lol. Can we get Facebook updates too?

Hey Tony,
Good talking to you last week. I appreciate the frequent touchpoints and updates.

As I said when we first started talking about this almost 2 years ago, I'm in for the long haul. The reason I choose to work with you guys is the absolute top notch quality product you produce, the phenomenal customer service, and the way you run your business in general.
Nothing I have experienced since those early days have made me question my decision in any way, only validated it.

Yes, it's taken a while to get everything off the ground, but that's part of the cost of a quality, motorsport-grade product. A fact which I knew from the beginning. If you had rushed to just get a product "out the door", it would have been disappointing and departure from past F.I. experiences. There's a reason people are still lined up on a huge list for your exhausts, and I have no doubt there will be a similar list for the TT kit once we start seeing the production kits on the street.

Dealing with you and your team has been a pleasure from the start. Hanging with you at ZDayZ was an added bonus.

It's getting hard to contain my excitement as we get closer to the end here. I can't wait to start thrashing it out on the track.

See you soon!
~Josh

I wanted to take a minute and get back to you.

From day #1, you believed in us when the kit was an idea. Just an idea, in our heads. You were all in, and very soon you will get to experience our work first hand. We are going to take great pleasure in coming out to Georgia to install your kit ourselves. Getting to finally meet in person at ZDayZ and chat for a while was an added bonus. Having your car in our booth there next year sets it over the top. You have become a great friend and that is more valuable than anything else. All of this being said, I cannot wait to see your car on the track next season.

Thanks, Tony

Cy,

I am not a fan of Social Media at all! Unfortunately it is the way we are moving as a whole. I will try to be more active on facebook but Instagram seems so much easier to me.

Thanks, Tony

P.S. Your car is on the lift above the Audi R8. Glad your car does not leak!

I am now back home from my trip to SoCal and I have to say that it couldn't be a better kick off to the holiday season. I got to spend time with family and make some new friends. After spending the weekend with my family I transported my car to SpecialtyZ where LJ helped me off load the Nismo and then he, I and Johnny talked Zs. It wasn't hard with several generations of Zs on hand for inspiration and Gregg's GTR looming over us on the lift like Godzilla. After about an hour of conversation about my build and the FI's TT kit I said my see ya laters and headed to Fast Intentions.

Well....all I can tell you is that its not hype if its true...Tony is an awesome person. He is authentic and genuine and I have to say the same goes for Dan as well. They both took time to explain to me all the science, engineering and design that has gone into building and producing the kit. I can honestly tell you that the pictures Tony post does not due any justice to the craftsmanship which has gone into the simplest of the parts in this kit. The kit is a marriage of form and function. The symmetry in the design is spot on.

It was intoxicating to see the members cars on FI's lifts. Cy's race car looking like a prize fighter before the fight as it was cloaked in a car cover with enough showing to make you want to see more. Nklear's car was on the next left looking sexy as hell and then Terrible's car was on the last left begging to have it's engine back so that it can leave rubber all over LA county. Terrible, your fun is just a day away as Dan was working his magic while I watched. All I can tell you is that this old guy was like a 12 yr old at Disneyland! I was pretty awesome to see all of the craftsmen work at their stations like an artist works canvas on a pedestal. The commitment to excellence and detail reek through out the shop. The FI team is a quality team which deserves the reputation it has earned and yes I'm a fan. Why, because in my two or so hour there Tony, Dan and the rest of the team made me fill special.

Tony, thanks for the hospitality and taking time out of your day to spend with me!

Now let the flogging begin...but remember, don't hate the player, hate the game! :bowrofl:

Hey buddy,

Great finally meeting you in person on Monday. You are a class act Bob. Like I wrote to DJTodd above, it has also been a pleasure getting to know you. Talking about life and cars of course. The journey as been bumpy for you but now your car is in great hands at SpecialtyZ. The wait is finally over! Sebastian knows his stuff and it is exciting that they are the first shop (aside of us) to install our TT Kit. You are going to love the full 3" Down Pipe and Exhaust setup. She is going to purr...

Looking forward to seeing the finished product shortly.

Thanks again.

Tony

Can't wait for my build to make the thread.....maybe we should just post our build specs and expectations here, to sate our eager minds?

BTW, sounds like install is moving well, hot damn!

Really not much to post of a stock motor sitting in the engine bay. If you have seen it once, you have seen it a million times. Step #1 was to get the engine out. Well, check that off of the list. Easy breezy when you have the right equipment. Now the fun begins, install time buddy!

Ahh my friend, thank you for the support. I did enjoy those talks back when you were shopping for a kit. Really do not how to respond to "you should of listened to me." I guess in all honesty with the facts you gave me and what your budget was, I thought Boosted Performance was your best (overall) option given your circumstances at that time. Sure I wanted your business and am going to be biased by saying my kit is the best for you. But I have never been in this to suck people dry of their money or up sell them. After you made it clear that our kit was above your price range I backed off and tried to point you down that fork in the road. All of that being said, you have my cell number, if you need anything give me a call.

Thanks, Tony

SPOHN...SPOHN...SPOHN...How the hell are ya! Just busting your chops, thanks for the support man. Don't really know what the apology is for, but thanks anyways. I enjoyed meeting you at ZDayZ. You know, seeing you in our Twin turbo prototype car looked good on you! In all seriousness, I am sure you will get it all worked out soon enough and be boosted one way or another. The door is always open if you need anything.

Thanks, Tony

One last thing to add. You two gents should meet one day. You are like two peas in a pod. Ha-ha

Tony thanks for acknowledgement and I look forward to seeing you again in the near future. I guess in my excitement I forgot ask, but will my Z be the first to have your 3" down pipes and 3" exhaust in concert with your TT kit? I don't remember us discussing it. I can't wait to see the results! Let the good times roll...

Chuck33079 11-22-2013 02:23 PM

Over the weekend I'll get Tony a video of the catted 3" exhaust in case anyone is on the fence about catted vs. uncatted.

elperuano 11-22-2013 02:32 PM

Chuck ur running the gtm tt kit with the 3 dp downpipe correct? Did u have to modify anything to get it to mate up?

That's correct. The shop that installed it didn't mention having to do anything, but they did say it was close.

elperuano 11-22-2013 02:40 PM

Perfect. I wanted to go with the 3" FI no cat exhaust but when I spoke with Tony they didn't make them yet for the g37 :( I'd like to hear how your setup sounds.

I have the same setup and it installed with no issues. I had to bend in the heat shields a little bit where the downpipes meet the flanges, but that was it.

It sounds wonderful, but it's not loud. People may get bent out of shape hearing this, but it's the perfect "adult" volume. You can drive it with co-workers or clients in the car and not be "that guy." :rofl2: If my car weren't a DD I may have considered non-catted, but I drive mine every day.

elperuano 11-22-2013 02:42 PM

And yours is with cats correct? Would love to hear a setup with no cats on boost.

Correct, I had Tony put cats in mine and ceramic coat the cans black. Mine's the unobtrusive version. It's not loud. That doesn't mean it's quiet. :rofl2:

1:05 in this video is my setup on low boost. Dyno noise gets in the way a little, but this is the FI Catted 3" TDX

Good point! They are great exhausts. I get nothing but compliments on the sound. It is nice and deep with no rasp. Tame during cruise and loud when you want it. I'll try to get a cold start video...that would help do it a little more justice!

I'll be "that guy" if I can get a few more ponies out of a noncatted exhaust

You would definitely get some more ponies for sure and honestly, I don't think it would be THAT loud. I went with the cats more for elimination of the gas smell. At the time, I was living in Northern VA where they are sticklers for emissions.

I think the ultimate combo would be the 3" Catted TDX with a set of electronic cutouts before the cats. If only those stupid things weren't known to leak!

Your's and nklear's car will both have 3" Down pipes and our full 3" CBE. In terms of which one is finished first, it will probably be a tie.

Thanks, Tony

cycy89 11-22-2013 03:31 PM

Tony, to answer to your question about the exhaust, I might have to stick with my titanium exhaust since they are my sponsor and they use my z as their show car. But please let me know what you think.

Our plan is to offer our 370Z-TT-TDX-CBE for the G37 coupe in 2.75". It will be available as soon as our TT Kit is released for the car. We opted to go with 2.75" vs. 3" to keep the interior noise even quieter. 2.75" is lighter and will also have more ground clearance. (Not that our 3" exhaust lacks ground clearance). Given the performance level 99% of G37 Coupe customers will be at, they will not outgrow the dual 2.75".

Stay tuned, more to come.

Thanks, Tony

elperuano 11-22-2013 03:33 PM
