A while back in the thread there was someone who had his motor built with Carillo rods, low compression pistons and some juke head bolts along with a FI TT kit install and ecutek tune by Specialty Z. I cant seem to find his post or I'd pm him, but I'm curious how much more having the engine built cost above all the rest of the install (ballpark, of course). I'm not close enough to a buy to even call them and waste their time talking about it. Id be paranoid to blow my motor because I didnt spend a couple grand more on basic engine upgrades. Besides who wants to be limited to 500ish WHP to be "safe" on stock internals? Sorry if this is a slight derail of the thread.

Congrats to FI for selling so many kits. It really shows when you have good service and an awesome product just how far you can go.

any news on the 7AT trans mods to make getting this turbo kit safer?

So i take it your getting the flex-plate that they have designed and the clutch packs as well.

Did they recommend any other upgrades for the trans to make it safer, as i am going to go supercharger and don't want my trans to blow

(would go FI TT but i have RHD)

Nismodean 12-23-2015 10:59 AM

If it were anybody else I would say do the supercharger, however, I say talk to Tony and see if he will take your car shipped to his location so that he can fit a twin turbo kit on your car. I can personally attest to the fact that Tony will take just as good care of your car if not better! Yes it will be more expensive to have your car shipped there and back but you will be the world's first right hand drive Fast Intentions TwinTurbo Z! All the koalas and wallabies will be so jealous bro!

Will also have tranny cooler which is the same build as Cy's 7AT.

Very excited about this build and should motivate more auto FI installs.

Happy Holidays!

Bit more work ahead of us... also wiring up a relay to give the fuel pump 14v. Going to get back to it after what is about to be I'm sure an epic New Year's celebration hang over.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We just wrapped up our first "True Stage 1" Nissan 370z Twin Turbo install. We are very pleased with the outcome. 456hp / 402 FT LB of Torque just cresting 9psi on 91 octane. This was all done with the stock fuel system, stock catalytic converters and boost controlled internally via ECUTek. This car is a true sleeper!

Tony, does this mean you no longer need the to use the Greddy Profec boost controller assembly once you have this ECUTEK tuning package? Can you provide more detail about this ECUtek boost control feature, and if any extra external hardware is required . Thanks

You just wire in a Mac solenoid in place of the CPC solenoid and it can be used for boost control. Last time I checked the circuit was very slow though (10hz). It works, but far from optimal.

Our progress, so far.

Motor's in. Just need to mount the I/C, fuel pump and button her up. Is it wrong that a guy that does this for a living is giddy like a school girl to get his own car buttoned done? lol

Hotrodz 01-05-2016 08:42 PM

No, you are going dance a cheer like a 9 year old that just walk through the gates of Disneyland when you crank her up and don't be surprise if a few tears don't run down your thighs when you drive her the first time too.

It's coming along nicely! Running some PLX widebands and the boost controller, hoping to get her running tonight (late night fun at the shop).

Vacuum block fits really in the back, no need to drill and tap the manifold.
