how long do you have access to the 370z sasha?

Those gaskets are horrible . They blow out . Has happen to me many times .. Motordyne stop using them for that reason.. |

My goal is to have it off the lift by May 1st. Quote:
The car that is being worked on had Stillen headers, and aftermarket test pipes. These were leaking a lot with the metal gasket. I will see how this works out and as mentioned earlier, nothing will be sold untill this kit is working perfect. |

 on the way you work. Many companies release products that are half-assed which only causes more headaches. |

I know that you are mainly a 350 guy, and they gasket issue is 370 specific. This is why I am bringing it to your attention. If the factory gasket is an option please try to work that into your system. |

The gasket is one of my main concerns, but then again i never went back and retorque them after a couple of heat cycles.
Flyboy, that does not look like the OEM gasket, the OEM one has a black rubber ring around the inside. This is what mine looked like when i took it off. Passanger side http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...18734827_n.jpg Driver side http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...94600501_n.jpg |

I went through 3 sets that looked like that .. |

Personally I also went through a few of the gaskets Motordyne supplies with their ART pipes until I installed the motordyne gasket WITH the stock factory gasket carefully positioned and tacked up with high temp gasket maker and so far have had zero issues in 3 or 4 months. Compared to the Motordyne gaskets lasting one dyno tuning session on my SCed car. |
If these are such a problem, I would use high Temp RTV with the Berk gaskets. The kit will come with a tube of it anyway for the oil pan spacer, and the rest (penty left) can be used on the headers. I know for a fact that the high temp RTV will now blow out, and a lot of guys use them right on the turbo inlet flange.
But again, the berk gasket should work just fine, and needs to be re-torqued after heat cycling. |

the gasket I posted is what I took off, there was no gasket like the ones that you guys are posting...
I am currently running RTV BY ITSELF, and so far it has held up. |

Believe me, I will be among the first to see it on the road. I will respect Sasha's privacy while the build is in progress, but when James takes delivery... game on!

Well, it is Sunday afternoon and I am done for the week….very tired. At this time I am just making duplicates of everything built so far. These items will stay behind for me to copy for future kits.
I was also toying with the idea of having a single waste gate, but that does not look like it will work out. Room under there car is at a premium. I spend some more time with making the charge pipe coming out of the turbo compressor. There will be a bit of a trick to it when a customer installs it, as it has to go in together with the oil relocation plate. Not a big deal, I will make sure the instructions are good with a lot of pictures. On with some pictures: Twins (well, almost): http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7162.jpg The second set installed http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7157.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7151.jpg Charge pipe coming from the front: http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7146.jpg Going through, you can see that it changed a bit from previous pictures: http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7127.jpg New down pipe: http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7125.jpg Oil reservoir in place, it allows the oil from the turbo to drain while the car is off. This is a very important part of the oiling system. Because the oil is allowed to drain, it does not sit in the turbo, and leak past the seals. This means no smoking at start-up. With this reservoir, it is as if the turbo is mounted up high in the engine bay. http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7126.jpg Weld up close: http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7148.jpg Now it is time to eat, and get some rest. |

Looking good Sasha! James sure is excited about it too. Nothing but praise for your work ethic and quality. Time to take this company public; I want in on the IPO.... |
My god thats looking good..
|
Lovin' it!
|
When you get this installed, can you please get some ground clearance pics? Will it fit under the current bracing?

When this customer came in, the test pipes were lower than anything else on this kit. |
Nice......very nice. How much power are you looking to put out with a single turbo & some of the other mods attached?
|
nice welds cant wait till its all done
:tiphat: |
Sasha, Do you delete the O2 sensors in Uprev or do you plan on mounting them still?
|

The 67mm turbo (upgrade/options) will be capable of 600+, and I would recommend that for built blocks, although it will work fine on a stock bock as well. Perhaps a bit more hp/psi, but not much. Quote:
BTW, if you wish to swing by and have a look at the build, you are more than welcome to. Just send me a PM. |
