I think 500hp at the wheels on a stock block should be suitable for most...

I agree, however, it is good to have options. I am sure that soon enough these engines will be getting built with forged internals, and they will have a solid upgrade option when the time comes.

Can't remember the last time I enjoyed going through a 19 page thread like I did here
Major respect to your work and welding skills.. top notch |

After installing the GTM TT kit on my back, I can safely say this is going to be a BREEZE to install comparatively. I love the GTM kit and enjoy having "twins", but this is a great option for DIY and I probably would have went this route if it was available a few months ago.
As everyone else has said, your up/down pipes are beautiful, really amazing work. |
This kit will have the potential to make big whp/wtq on a built motor, no doubt!! The fact that you can put almost any size turbo you want in that area is a plus.
|
this is looking very good!
I'm excited to see the final results and may consider this if I ever decide to go FI. |

we developed the first twin scroll kit that we never pushed. came out pretty good. car made 706whp at 22 psi on meth on a 4088 journal bearing. your kits perform great also. really want to see how the twin scroll comes out on your new kit! |

With that setup, the runner length is different feeding the turbo. I am really trying hard to keep it all equal length, so that "should" help a bit. I think the rear transmission support had to be taken off for the crossover pipe to slide over. A bit more of an involved install, but same idea. From reading many back to back comparisons the PTE6766 should outperform the 4088 all day long, so untill somebody builds the block we won't really know how far this will go. I think deep 700's are a reasonable guess, with proper supporting mods of course. EDIT: I should mention that the main reason for going with the twin scroll is that it offers much larger turbine housing options...all the way up to a 1.32 a/r. The open T4 only goes up to a .96 a/r, although I think that is a "big enough" turbine to support a decent amount of power. |
iirc it was a 1.06 ar. keep up the good work Sasha. **** looks good! your welding looks alot better!. color looks good. the weld u posted up a few pages ago seems under cut a little, are you back purging all the welds on the feed side? you using argon? if you are try using helium.and yes jtran studios.

This would be a better representation of what the welds look like: http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...D/IMG_6591.jpg |
looking good man! definitely way better then before man! schedule 10 pipe? 75a is good! what welder are you using? gotta try out helium when you have the chance!!! .045 is the rod of choice here on aluminum or stainless!

aluminum looks good buddy! try running the cfm on the argon down a bit and run the amperage up a bit more. seems like the cleansing area is way too much. stop wasting that argon! when you do try helium, lmk how you like it!

On the bright side, things are looking up. I was able to build a complete new set of intercooler pipes today, so that almost completes the second kit that I am keeping here to build jigs off of. The oil pan spacer is in as well, so that took a bit of time as I took a lot of pictures for the install instructions, while making small mental notes. I also discovered that the first pipe on the hot side (attaches to the compressor outlet) will be very easy to install as it can be pushed through from under the passenger side header. I mentioned earlier that this pipe will be a PITA to install with the oil filter plate in place...this is no longer the case. IC piping should take about 30min to install with this kit. The exhaust stuff will also be rather quick, as it will simply bolt up to the OEM headers, and then the turbo goes on via 4 bolts...again very simple. Down pipe will be two V-bands, no rocket science there. I have to make a pit stop tomorrow and get two -8an 45* fittings for the oil cooler lines. I had picked up a bunch of 90* fittings, but a couple of 45's are better suited here. The oil feed to the turbo will be taken off of the OEM oil pressure sensor, and it gets a bit busy there, so the 45's will divert a couple of the big lines. I hope to get all the oil lines done tomorrow, get the FMIC mounted for good, and have it ready for the bumper to go back on. After that is all done I will focus on recirculating the wastegates. This should not be too bad at all. Then I will move on to the fuel pump and injectors, so half day for that. Too tired to load pictures this evening...will post them up tomorrow. |
Dedication to quality and the ease of install for the customer! Awesome !! http://serve.mysmiley.net/happy/happy0030.gif

Sasha,
Not sure if you mentioned it (my apologies if I missed it) but how long do you think this install would take? -If one had access to a hoist and had basic wrenching abilities.. Thanks, R |

Some of the stuff will be preassembled as well. The new filter relocation will come bolted up already, so two bolt on the car and you are done. Same goes for the oil cooler, two screws and it is done. Scavenge pump will come bolted to it's mounting bracket as well, so two more bolts and it is installed. I lik to pre-assemble a lot of stuff, and label it all very well. All the fittings will have teflon tape on already also, and some will be already in place (oil relocation, scavenge pump..ect.) |

-I await completion, with eager anticipation! Thanks Sasha, R |
The more I read the more excited I get. I'm putting money in my piggy bank like no tomorrow!
