I'm sorry if I missed it, but will it be absolutely impossible to implement this on an A/T?

Hey

Hey Sasha just quit your real job already we got enough buyers to keep you busy and when will your kit be up for sale June maybe????

Boosted Performance 04-26-2012 05:31 PM

This will not fit the auto, the large oil pan is in the way. I also don't know if this will fit the G37. My 350z turbo kit will fit the g35's, but I have no idea if this will bolt up without issue.

I have a great day job, it still pays the bills, and supports Boosted Performance at times. It takes a while to build up a business, and make it profitable. There is only so many guys that would buy a turbo kit, but with the day job the money comes in every two weeks, not matter what. A family of four (have two kids, 7 and 9)will always will be priority #1, and the day job provides the security.

The business is growing fast, so you never know what will happen down the road.

This will have the same clearance on the G37s. The Y pipe connection/downpipe is a little longer but otherwise almost identical. Should be a minor mod for a manual G37s

gbrettin 04-27-2012 04:15 PM

Aww man, I have an AT. Let me know if there are plans in the future to make something work for an AT.

wheee! 04-27-2012 04:55 PM

I think Sasha has already made it clear that the AT has clearance issues with the oil pan etc that make it impractical to try and develop a mid mount turbo in automatics. It MAY be possible with some major modifications, but then it would no longer be what it is: a mid mount performance turbo with minimal flow disruption... sorry guys.

Boosted Performance 04-27-2012 07:56 PM

Bit of an update...not so exciding but I think you guys will take anything..

All the oil stuff is done, oil cooler is installed for good, as is the scavenge pump. Turbo oil fed line is also complete, so the front bumper is close to going back on. I have to do a bit of intercooler pipe work first thing in the morning, so that I have a set of charge pipe (engine bay) to keep with me.

On to the pictures:

Spacer with oil return port:

A few oil lines under there:

Final install shot of the pump with all hoses in place, tied up

As you can see nothing is left to chance, all of this is top quality, built for performance and durablity.

Forgot to get spark plugs. Quick search shows that HKS part number: 50003-M40HL is popular. I don't think I will find these localy, any other part numbers? I understand that thay need to be set to about .035. Is there an NGK part number available?

DILKAR7B11 - Those are for NGK Iridium Plugs. They MSRP about $20 - $22 a piece.

I think these are stock plugs, correct? I would need one step colder.

gbrettin 04-27-2012 10:56 PM

I kinda skimmed through some of the thread and missed the clearance issue for the AT. The work looks amazing though! Keep the pictures coming. :)

Ahh most people just run the stock plugs, but you're right they're not one step colder.

That explains the lack of info. when I did a search. Only about 6 threads came up while searching "spark plugs".

I guess the OEM's are fine then if most people run them. I would assume that one step colder plugs are used for big builds, with upgraded rods/pistons.

The stock plugs in the VHR are one step colder then from the DE motors (rev and non rev-up).

Hope this helps!

My STS kit came with plugs and you know I dont know if they were colder or not I'll have to check

More stealthy even though the core would be obvious lurking in the bumber to any enthusiast.

That can be coated as well...personally the route I'd go as well. Stealthy :driving:

Boosted Performance 04-29-2012 04:45 PM

Yesterday was fuel day. Got the OEM plenum off (very easy to do) and removed the fuel rails (also very easy task).

OEM fuel rails/injectors ready for the new 750cc injectors with pigtails:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7273.jpg

A few minutes later, old injectors out and new ones in:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7278.jpg

With the plenum off, it was a good time to add two ports to it. One will be for the waste gates, and the other will be used on the BOV's. Removing the TB is a must, because there will be a good amount of plastic on the inside to clean up form drilling/taping. The TB is also very easy to remove, just 4 allen head bolts and it is off.

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7287.jpg

The oil lines to the turbo, viewed from the passenger side wheel well. (wheel removed):

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7307.jpg

Then it was time to start putting things together for the final time...first pipe going to the turbo:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7291.jpg

Then #2 goes in:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7294.jpg

Followed by #3, inserted from the other side (header):

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7297.jpg

Clamps are on, ready for the turbo to go in:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7303.jpg

With all the IC piping done under the car, it was time to move up top:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7316.jpg

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7326.jpg

Driver side:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7321.jpg

Passenger side:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7320.jpg

All done:

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...d/IMG_7319.jpg

Things to do:

-Plug'n play wire harness/relay for the scavenge pump (evening project)
-Fuel pump install (possibly today)
-Waste gate pluming/recirculation (x2 for the kit that stays behind)
-Go over everything and make sure it is good

Hope to get a base map for the 750cc injectors and UpRev soon, and then we start her up.

I just wanted to point out that the plugs you linked to are for VQ35HR engines. They are 1 step hotter than the VQ37VHR plugs. The correct plugs for VQ37VHR are: FXE24HR-11

Heat ranges:
VQ35DE = 16
VQ35HR = 22
VQ37VHR = 24

Sysopz 04-29-2012 05:35 PM

Work of art IMO!
