I was looking to purchase a supercharger from GTM but i got confused really quick. i love to be around 400 HP and not looking to spend more than $5500.00

I will really love to get some pointers from someone who owns a supercharger kit.

Thanks

$5500.00 is not enough to get the kit, let alone if you need someone to install it for you. also don't forget you should get the supporting mods too.

I concur. You need to make sure everything else with the Z will be able to balance out with the increase power. The stock VLSD would not be able to grip the excess power. You probably going to need stickier tires because even the stock tire couldn't hold the stock power. Suspension needs to be stiff or else you'd be wobbling all over the place.

There's more to it as well, but better address those first before anything else.

GTM supercharger is 7,000 for the turnkey kit, which SC are you looking at buying?

I bought a non-sport z and looking to buy a SC as well. I've never heard anybody say we needed to upgrade our VLSD.

You don't need to buy an upgraded Vlsd unless you plan on tracking your car. To the OP only wanting to spend $5550*, it's not going to happen. Even if you bought the stg.1, you still have about a 2k install price, going to need an oil cooler, clutch, & dyno tune. For the stage 1, I'd say it would be about $10,000.

Look for a used Stillen and install it yourself. Thats the only way your gonna be able to spend the money you want to spend. I would reckomend just saving even if its for another year or two and do it right. If you set a low budget like that the car is gonna be more problems then you want.

To add: if you think $10k is to much for your power needs..I don't see how you can afford either the GTR or 911 Turbo.

Can someone translate the above post for me???

Good choice on the SC and good luck to you. I don't have anything other than the stock traction control system and my car is amazing to drive and does not slide all over the place.

That said if I did have plans to use it for tracking and not for daily driving I'd probably invest in a better traction control system and something other than stock tires.

there is a stillen kit for 4800$ and it can go to 10psi so you might be able to hit 500
and I think it costs less to install than other kits.

Someone mentioned Afford a GTR or a 911 who cares if I or Anyone can afford a GTR or 911 GT3. I like the car i drive now my 370z is awesome is great experience every day i drive this toy. The fact is Today i call GTM and i will be getting something they called turn key SC kit they said is the best B for the buck. The install will be done locally by professionals for 1,200.00 I am exited about this and will post pics as i move with my project toy. One more thing i was stationed in CA FT Irwin before i moved to AZ and I finish with my lease 2000.00 monthly payments on my SUV. I was approved for 110,000.00 for a vehicle not counting that my wife drives a Rover and my son also has a vehicle... Now purchase a GTR or a 911 is not the problem but to myself is not well invested money. When you have kids two houses a business you don't think in yourself with a 70,000 or 90,000 car you think in your family first.. my old suv is in some carmax in CA i just send them some paperwork they requested trough Porsche of ND. take a look at my old truck LOL
2008 Porsche Cayenne GTS in Costa Mesa, CA- 7698009 at carmax.com

Reality and New Y i spend almost 20min of my time writing this remember you owe me 20 min of your time.
20 min to type this, really?.. My apologies.

-I don't think anybody cares what you can or can't buy. But if you are hesitant to drop $10k to mod your z, than you probably couldn't afford either the GTR or the 911TT, AS A DD
*You should read up on the cost of the GTR's first service.. *

And save me the grandstanding about how much you sacrifice for family... Nobody has questioned that, nor would they. I have some friends who make mid or higher 6 figures/year, but drive around in 3 series bmw's, only because they want to invest for their families futures.. Not waste $ on project/toys, as you said.

Food for thought:
-You are boosting your DD.. that is a recipe for headaches/heartaches.
-If you think that you're in the clear after the FI install, you have a surprise in store for you.
-If you don't have the money for a full rebuild of your motor, you are not ready for FI.
