I have the stg 1 kit on my G. the air intake is in the fake break duck behind the trans cooler on my car. this is a low location.

1) I drive my car as a DD in rain snow and everything. Not one issue with water in 1.5 years with the kit. Now will i drive threw 2' of standing water? NO. But i would not have done that with the car when it was stock so no issue for me.

2) cuz i know it will be asked. No the trans cooler infront of the intake does not hamper the cold air going into the intake. it is only a trans cooler people not a blow tourch.

Would there be any point to a larger radiator if the OEM fans dont come on until 215*F anyways?

Any info on pricing for the upgraded radiator and the version with the fans?

Of course. Bigger radiator means more heat capacity through the combination of more surface area and more coolant capacity. Even with the fans set the same, a bigger radiator should do a better job of handling the heat load when pushing the car. It probably would have little to no effect on idling or mild driving around town, but that's not where people are running into trouble anyway.

Since the fans and radiator were in this press release, do they have pricing and an availability date?

The air filter is located pretty low, but i doubt it is any lower then the injen long tube cold air intake. altho with the horizontal placement of the filter, there might be a bigger chance of it getting wet. Physically the filter sits right above the frame, pretty much right beside the cat and is clearly visible thru the passenger side rim.
As for if it will take in water, we will have to wait and see, i'm the one that will be doing most of the cold weather testing for this kit.

I've been driving stick since I received my license 10 years ago. If any one of you guys are like me, driving manual isn't an issue in stop and go traffic. It's just that I am so used to it that it is like walking...

I could understand that, I never had an experience like this, or a father/uncle/older brother that had one I could learn/practice on. And I don't feel comfortable driving someone elses car because I don't wanna damage it lol So I just never had a chance to learn young which is when you should... just like swimming haha.

Hey, cool video man! That's my home track. I used to run my M3 and STi out there, and my brother ran his C6 and now his E90 M3 out there. Not sure if you're driving both cars, but you gotta attack that hill harder and not let off so early on the back straight, haha. I used to hit 140ish on the back straight in my STi running clockwise.

Yeah I'm still learning the track, while simultaneously learning to drive on a road course. My first class isn't until early November, so for now I'm kinda winging it on my own and doubtlessly developing some bad habits. But mostly I'm going "easy" on a lot of the decels and turns because I'm not confident about where the limits are

Not hating at all. Nothing wrong with an auto. I have driven autos before and my SUV is an auto. I am just curious because I think it's odd to buy a pure sports car in auto, and I see a LOT of auto 370Zs both on here and during my tortured search for a car to buy. I know these new gearboxes (e.g. GTR) are faster, more precise, etc, etc, as compared to the old 6MT, and you can never make a mistake, but where's the fun in that? It's like bowling with the bumpers out.

Anyway, my bad for getting way off topic. This thread is about GTM's badass new stage 2 kit!

You can still have the same fun as a manual, perhaps it might be easier to prevent engine/tranny damage. But then now how can you say a MT driver is better if he's blowing trannys...

To me its just less of a hassle to drive and I can focus more on enjoying the road/track.

Agreed, back to topic.
