I have the same question lool just for the future... i want my Z with a TT kit... if i install Forged Rods & Pistons i will be ok for that power o i need another engine parts, like forged crankshaft, Sleeves.... I know the fuel rails, fuel pump and bigger injectors are essentially for any turbo build.

theDreamer 09-16-2014 10:01 AM

Tracking (ring racing) plus boost is still a limited subject.
Very few are on the track with TT, I know a few with SC hitting up track events but that is a good bit less heat and low to mid 400whp range so very different. On the statement of safe, it comes down to keeping the engine in check. Such as keep coolant (water/oil/etc) as low as you can while pushing the car and then a very solid tune that does not push the engine. Especially since on the track you spend much of the time in the upper RPM range to maximize speed/performance, this can be brutal for a stock block.

Carlitos, with many engines pushing mid 500 and above I would say depending on your power requirement and how often you track I would skip the built block. Keeping the engine untouched can be a very wise choice, because once you open it up you introduce a whole new level of problems, especially on the track.

Here is a good write up by DjTodd on TT on the track:
http://www.the370z.com/members-370z-...ml#post2818519

At the top of the thread is his current build list on the car to give you an idea of what he has done.

Thanks a lot Dreamer.. in the future if i install a TT kit to my Z i be more than happy with 470-500 whp... i think with that power is more than sufficient to handle the car in a track with out problem... of course with good tires and brakes setup

Thanks my friend for the help!!

Cool to see another member from Puerto Rico. If you go this route in the future bro as i did, keep in mind the fuel as well. There are a few TT builds that have make over 500whp with 91 octane but that crappy octane fuel is still my #1 concern for the stock block even with a good tune since were i live i don't have the option for higher octane fuel.

Thanks for the tip bro... the fuel here is like crap... But the Ecomaxx 93 oct fuel works good... I use that fuel in my 500whp+ sti before i sell it and 0 issues. I see the difference on the wideband as soon i try that fuel. i have to figured out a few things first after make my Z turbo but trust me is on my wish list from the day that i buy my Z :)

Have a nice day!:hello:

You know your stuff my friend and Ecomaxx 93 is a damn good fuel. I am no expert like quite a few guys here but if anything comes to mind bro let me know. There are websides here that sell great aftermarket parts for this car if you need some pointers.

Take care bro!:tiphat:

]-2010 Nissan 370z Sport Package
-AAM Twin Turbo Kit w/ (stock internals)
-609whp 461tq
-9.5 psi (I didn't want to go any higher then that, i was more than satisfied):happydance:
-on 93 Octane (I plan on going E85 in the near future)
-So far the kit has about 500 miles.
-The car already had the Z1 competition clutch kit with a upgrade to a 6 puck. Only modifications added during the install was a oil cooler, urethane motor mounts, Hks boost controller, 1000cc injectors and a aeromotive 340 fuel pump.

Nice!!!:tiphat:

Guys...Is that a record 93 Oct stock block HP number? I know some of the FI guys have are well into 6XXwhp, and Phunk dropped an insane 67X, but I lost track of who is running E85 and who's on pump.

No I think someone has a bit higher, also I added fuel to the graphs awhile back so to keep a record of what people were getting HP/Fuel wise.
Since so many were e85 or 93 or 93/100, needed to great it all down.

Well, Friday and office is slow so time to update the records here.

I stand corrected.
Fast Intentions did 606HP at 14PSI on 93 and Nguy3 with AAM TT is 609HP at 9.5PSI on 93. I am curious about that PSI because basically everyone over 550HP is running 12+ PSI.

Phunk was running only like 8.5-9 psi when he was high 5XX's. I think the AAM turbos are just large and that's what leads the TQ numbers being lower than you would expect too.

Yeah i was shocked when the very first 5th gear pull hit 609whp on Z1's dyno. i wasn't expecting that at all. I thought for sure i was gonna be low 5xxwhp.

That's a 5th gear pull? So your 4th gear pull was the one Jon posted at 589whp. Most of the numbers here are 4th gear pulls for comparison.

Oh. Haha I didn't know. Yeah I hit 609 whp in 5th gear. And 589whp in 4th gear. I don't remember the torque for my 4th gear though.
