Even though it has different contexts, at least we're staying on topic of race.

The fact is, this "legendary build" has not put down these "claimed" #'s.. If you can't handle that reality, then its to dam bad. |
Read the thread title thou. Its says journey to 1000hp its like a goal.

I don't think there's any question that 4.5l of displacement plus the turbos being used here will go well beyond 1000whp, what bugs me is the timeline they layed out that had the owner touting that it would be done in july.
Please don't get confused though, I only wish I had the wallet and balls to pursue this kind of project and give the highest proprs to the owner and gtm for what they're doing. But unreallistic timelines presented by shops to customers (even customers moved to the front of the line) are one of my pet peeves. That is all |

But in any case...when there is a project taken of this magnitude, a timeline doesn't mean much. They are engineering parts on this car that will be produced as aftermarket products for purchase for our community. They are doing all the R&D. Add this fact with the hundreds of other customers GTM deals with... the R&D can't be placed on a time constraint. That's one thing I learned when I used to work for a VQ shop. |

Thank you Frank!
You guys have to understand there is a lot of behind the scenes stuff going on here... Timelines were given to represent that we were pushing to have the car done for shows like SEMA... Several of the parts had to be hand made by fabricators. You know what the crazy thing is... Everyone talking out their butt about my car being pushed to the front of the line!!! That is completely untrue and a false claim that keeps getting pushed forward! Many cars have come into the shop gotten their installs and are now on the road after my car was started. We planned on having the main work done in august and tuning to begin then when everyone put a lot of interest in the gtr manifold I called Sam and we arranged to make my car the test bed in august. I also have other sponsors who had to work on the car!!! I also had photoshoots for the car... This all takes time away from GTM from working on the car. The complaints here are completely childish and retarded! When people started making the claims that my car was taking priority over everyones build I did a surprise walk in a gtm and guess what there were several cara being worked on but one... Mine!!! So get a grip guys and be patient!!! There is sooo much more in store for this car you guys have no idea about!!! If you have questions ask and I will answer the best I can. Thanks Mike |
Thank you Mike for your time and everything else that went into this and is still going in.:tiphat:
Thanks again FB |

Did it take me this long to realize you are XKR from the other forum? Or am I mistaken?
|
I gotta agree, its absolutely ridiculous for anyone to complain that this build isnt being done according to plan. Timelines are simply impossible to follow and are just there for organizational purposes on builds like these.
I don't know about most of you, but I'm more interested in how they are making the car actually work around a 1000whp engine rather than how much power it makes. Everything else needs to be modified and upgraded to handle the power and the heat. |

lifespan? MTBF of the engine? uhhh...i dunno dixon?

why dopeople get so passionately upset about a build on someone else's car taking too long. I think its a really cool build, big deal if its taking longer. If anyone would be frustrated it would be bullit and since he isn't the fact that other people are getting mad about the timeline is kind of ridiculous.
|
I hope it does last. That is an awful lot of power. I'd be sceeeeeeered.
|
I agree Jeff. If it's not your car.......:gtfo2:

nothing wrong with people commenting/criticizing/praising. obviously its only bullits car, no one else's. share opinions, share w/e. but to complain about how long its taking is kind of silly. if bullits GTM project is making someone that upset, they need a new hobby. |

My whole point revolves around thinking logically. That's why as soon as he said it would be done in july over on my350z I said "subscribed for copmletion sometime next year". I'm no genius but I've seen enough of these builds that I know theres no way this is going to be done in 1-2 months or even 6 months at that. The shops put out these completion times so the owner doesn't get cold feet about being apart from their car for so long. Plain and simple. If I were in charge of giving the owner a timeline on this project I would've told him 8 months and hoped we could deliver. I see it over and over again. |
