KaienZ34 02-22-2011 07:47 PM

Can you tell me just a brief synopsis on the Zele kit... It's my fav kit for the Z right now. What was the total cost for the kit/paint/fitting... ??

KaienZ34 02-22-2011 10:32 PM

Well mike's got some great sponsors so i can't really say what he paid. For the kit minus the wing your looking at $4200 before ship then for prep/fit/install most likely 2k+ give or take. But for you my good man i'll give you a pic of the kit for free.

bullitt5897 02-22-2011 11:08 PM

the Zele kit is flawless!!! perfect OEM fitment. I would say less than $2k installed. There is no need for it to be $2k or more. $2k is on the high side.

KaienZ34 02-22-2011 11:11 PM

I'd say the Zele AZZ and the side skirts are the best looking out there. IMO

Ok, cool. Thats about where I thought it would be... But that's bought/painted/installed right? Not bought/installed? Or just installed? Cause the kit itself is $$$ isn't it...??

bullitt5897 02-22-2011 11:48 PM

Sub $2k install/paint

kit should be around $4200

That was the reason I had *fingers Crossed* I talked to sam and we are looking at another week or so. will update when we get the next unit in.

NewYorkJon34 02-23-2011 11:13 AM

So how much of a pain is it to install the new/gt-r manifold?

Installation will take a couple hours, and it will be the same procedure as a stock lower intake replacement .

Sam

NewYorkJon34 02-23-2011 03:00 PM

Hey Sam, how things been? You think it could be done in 1 day?

Extremely busy, thank you. One day will be enough to install and tune for sure .

Sam

NewYorkJon34 02-23-2011 03:49 PM

That's good to hear that you guys are busy makin $$$, so I would have to find a tuning shop that day, or does it come with a programmer that plugs into the obd port similar to a re-flash with a Cobb tuning unit.

I will be awaiting this epic list of epicly stuff.

Maybe I should take another suitcase or two with me to america and try shoving a TT kit in there :roflpuke2:. or somehow get the money to ship my Z with me to america :roflpuke2:

Just use the shrink ray.:tiphat:

Vegitto-kun 02-23-2011 04:28 PM

The release date of the shrink ray has been delayed again. :shakes head:

DIGItonium 02-26-2011 03:51 PM

Mike, how's the progress on your car? IIRC, last I heard was the fuel system was being put back in. Is the lower manifold the last piece of the puzzle before test running the engine?

JB-370z 02-27-2011 10:15 AM

Your ready for that GTR manifold DIGI!!! I love it too, I will have one under the hood as well.

b1adesofcha0s 03-06-2011 07:38 PM

Oh man, I literally spent all day reading all 82 pages of this this thread. Me + this thread today = :postwhore:

Bullitt, props to you on the build and everything you and GTM have put into it. Count me in as another person excited to see the results and the car in action.

Can not believe all the hate that I saw in this thread, it's ridiculous. If you have such a problem with it, then stay out of it. No need to periodically pop in and inject some hate into it. :shakes head:

DIGItonium 03-07-2011 06:58 PM

Enough is enough...

:hello: I'm probably one of those "yahoos" inquiring about updates.

Daniel, if you have interest or plans to get any of these products once it goes into production, more power to you. Otherwise, feel free to rant offsite if you don't have anything to bring to the table. Granted, I don't have much to contribute either, but I'm happy say that I have a VR38 intake collector and engine cover in hand ready for Baker this June.

Hopefully GTM can pull this off by June since this is all I need to complete the project. Plus, it'll be a fraction of the power Bullitt is making.

@Bullitt & GTM, have you heard anything from Rapid? Are they revising the drawings? Also, is the gasket thickness taken into consideration when designing the manifold?

Mike@GTM 03-08-2011 02:05 PM

Here's a quick update on the intake. It is still being revised and we are working to ensure everything on the prototype lines up this time around. Here's a couple quick pictures of the computer model as it is currently. Although the problem was very minor, once we started correcting the issues, we ended up having to do a lot more to the model. It is staggering how much time it takes to do this. Once you make a full 3D model, it is a royal PITA to fix something.

I know I missed something somewhere. Big thread here. So this is going to be the custom intake for a GTR plenum to fit?

It's a custom lower manifold to resolve fitment issues with the intake collector (plenum). The orientation of the runners are reversed, and the openings are round (versus square with ours). There are photos of my GTR intake plenum in the album, or you can backtrack a few pages of drama to get to my post.

Basically yes! Thanks digi!

This is a conversion lower manifold to allow users to mount a VR38 Intake Plenum to their VQ style motors.

Ok, thanks. I'll have to search later tonight. To much trouble on my iPhone.

The point of this was to push VVEL and to make a VQ37 or now VQ45 motor with VVEL break 1000rwhp. GTR heads are not needed and an unnecessary expense...

Vegitto-kun 03-09-2011 02:09 PM

By the look of things I might see the white dragon when coming to america.

how big is a torque convertor anyway. might bring mine with me and give it to GTM to do their magic on it....if they can get it done within 2 weeks :roflpuke2:

Also the VR is closed deck block and the VQ is an open deck block so EVERYTHING is different.

about the size of a small dog and it will weigh more than 15 kilo's

Vegitto-kun 03-10-2011 12:11 PM

what the hell? its that huge? O_o

1slow370 03-11-2011 04:38 AM

think jack russel and it's made out of steel so yeah It's probably like about 25cm in diameter and about 7-10cm tall. IT's hollow so it weighs less when drained so maybe 10kilos about the size of 2 oem clutches stacked on top of each other

Z eliminator 03-11-2011 07:04 AM

I will be testing the GTM converter at the track April 2nd if it ever stops snowing and raining up here.

Hmm... I've never dealt with the stuff. It does sound a bit better than having open roads all year and blowing money on the car year round though:happydance:
