Its ok Bullitt, you need haters! ;)

longevity of the motor? meh, 1000whp engines aren't supposed to last, thats why the Veyron costs a million dollars.
That's kinda interesting. More interesting are questions like: What driveshaft will handle the power? What axles? Hows he gonna keep the engine cool? What transmission will he use to handle 1000hp? What differential? Compression? Meth? What tires? What's he going to do about the aero profile to go the speeds he wants to? How engine mounts are gonna hold up, tranny mounts? diff mounts? Melting everything around the turbos? All has to be welded. Full rollcage. Forget the A/C. Those are the parts I find interesting. Lots of engineering goes into a build like this. That's were the true risk of this build is, if all it took was a 1000hp engine then it would be just a matter of building the engine and pumping a lot of boost into it. If only it were that easy haha... |

we are keeping A/C ;)

well i don't think they'll be cranking the AC when they try to push past 1000hp on the dyno. If i recall, the car isn't going to be tuned to 1000hp all the time, so AC, and longevity issues of running a car with 1000hp and 4 tons () of boost shouldn't really be issues unless bullits gonna be using the car as a DD, every day driving at WOT with the most aggressive tuning setup on the car.

You either got super creative or you don't have enough cooling to support a 1000hp car for more than a few minutes of hard driving. Looking forward to seeing what you guys did  Got any reasonable ETA ? |

its ready when he says it ready. Shouldnt rush $$$$$$ project like this. You always want the best products on your car.

yeah a month or so. And when someone said they were in for completion sometime next year you blew it off. Changing and adding things always happens on these builds and should be built into the timeline. I'm just sick of seeing unreallistic build times put out by shops. And I'm not gonna let up on the subject. That being said, I love what you're doing

no reason to rush through to meet a timeline and end up halfassing something.. |

Daniel: The parts being changed on the car are mainly parts outside of GTM's control i.e. the car leaves the shop on a trailer to another shop for a week or so then comes back. GTM gave me realistic timelines we had a motor already pre-built for my project. The turbo kit had already been shipped to me last year. I had clutch and most of the supporting mods already in hand in may. the main pieces left were install fabrication and tuning. The install was done in about 2 months. We looked over the project and some components and realized we could better the build and make a better product to be reproduced. GTM took it on themselves to make the build better! They told me there could be delays and kept me up to date. I had photoshoots for the car and I had other body work to get done... GTM has been patient with me on this build and now the car is finally all theirs to finish. My turbo power will be down and available for release before new years. Again I want to STRESS no ones builds were ever put on hold so that mine could be built... the reason for such a quick build was the stockpiling of parts WAY in advance of the build!!! The time lines are realistic and despite the car traveling to shows and to other shops it could have easily been finished months ago! My build is more than a turbo/motor build... it is a full car makeover! Push the point all you want just realize you are preaching to a deaf crowd... we are looking forward not back and I would appreciate you doing the same. Thank you, Mike p.s. thank you guys for the compliments! you too daniel! |
builds take time, my friend has been waiting to get his powerlab kit because of a BOV:shakes head:
|
bump for any possible updates.=) mainly just want this to stay at the top because it is pure sex.

If you are a paying customer then first come first serve, if your build did delay other builds, what the hells the problem? I dont know why you keep apologizing. It's not your problem..
|
Updates soon the new intake is almost finished ;)
|
looking good. :)

Makes me happy! I cannot wait to see some videos for sure!
|
After all my B!tching and moaning about timelines this build still makes me happy in muh pants and I want to see quality in car videos of this thing doing 20-140 pulls. I don't think thats to much to ask. If you're penniless after the build i will even spring for a headrest mount for your camera. MUST HAVE IN CAR VIDEOS
|
ohhh there will be videos ;)
