Well I am glade that you find it a good question. I did some research before i posted that and there are so many reviews of others contradicting what others say. Dyno dynamics and dynojet both measure resistance load differently hence why they give different numbers. You got to remember people have seen numbers to vary on the same dyno just by how tight they strap down the subject car... I agree there needs to be a set standard that we follow by. Maybe we should start a thread about this and have the vendors chime in on what they use and why they chose that style or model...

p.s. you let me know when your dyno comes out!!! I want to put my car on that! shoot if I am going to be making power in the 1xxx+ range on a regular dyno lmao yours would be like 2xxx+ hahahahaha

Sam will be posting my thread in the next few day hopefully. it is sure to be one of the most Technical and in depth threads on the370z. I talked with him about it last night. The thread will discuss a lot of the details of my build in depth and the reasoning behind the technology used. We have been waiting on the build to get to a certain stage before posting up my thread. Also, it is taking Sam some time to put together his in depth documentation on the build. Lets just say this project is for sure ground breaking in the history of the 370z and VVEL technology. so stay tuned my brothers we have a wild ride ahead of us!!!

Frank, I gave up long ago chasing a number. In truth, the dyno operator can make the dyno say whatever he wants it to say. I would go with a reputable tuner and then take it to another dyno for a cross comparison and call it a day. If there is not a huge discrepancy in numbers, I wouldn't pursue it further. I would go as far as to say that even a 20-30whp difference on the same type of dyno would be sufficient for me not to balk. Granted if one shows 50-60whp different and they are not load based vs inertia (mustang/dyno dynamics vs. DJ) then I might dig further. Someone's inflating the numbers in that instance.

Trap speeds are a pretty good indicator of rwhp

). Definitely one of if not my favorites 370s that I've seen.

Nice build, you sound alot like me...with my G35 throwing tons of $$$$$ and parts at it for huge power and have had nothing but headaches. I have been convinced for awhile a G37 with a simple TT set is the way to go for me. After reading your thread and your opinion on the GTR (I have heard the same from former high HP 350z owners) I think its only a matter of time before I do a G37 with the GTM kit and shoot for the 550-600whp range. Thanks for the excellent write up and honest opinions I have found it very helpful, Congrats on a great looking car with a sick build

If you go that route, you won't be disappointed

VHR/HR motors are just begging for boost. I've found that the powerband is much more usable than on the DE's, where you are scrambling to find traction at anything over 3k rpm.

Thanks for the feedback, Sylvan Lake V. As Chris said above, do it and you will be much more happy than you are at the present moment. Honestly, there is nothing like driving a very nice OEM car, having it run like OEM...but, with a good bit of power. Right now, I really couldn't ask for more. Even when she is a bit tempermental (and she has been recently with some front bumper damage) I still love her.

It's funny that you say that. I have recently been thinking, a lot, about how fortunate I have been being able to build the 350Z, owning the GT-R and now having the 370Z and its build. I honestly think that I'm reaching a crossroad where I want to start paying some of that forward. Posts like yours are helping me make a very hard decision. Thanks, sir.

Z1804 has already PM'ed me the details and an invite. It seems there is about an 80% chance that I will be able to attend. I am awaiting a call to cement my final plans for this weekend. I truly hope I can make it out as the alternative is not going to be nearly as fun.
