For 45k, 1000rwhp seems like a good deal, but more than doubles the price of the Z...this is gonna take more money than I thought.

Do you even know what you'd do with 1000 whp? Heck, even 700 whp.

I drove a TT 350z with 600 whp. The car was fast as hell, but I couldn't enjoy it as a daily car. I think 450-500 is about all I want.

It would be sort of annoying to drive, but you would have the fastest thing on the street...unless another 1000hp car is next to you

guys, the good thing about turbo cars is you can turn down the boost and DD the car in the fun zone but when that time arises and you need the extra oomph just turn up the boost

superchargers cant do that hahahaha

Bullit, you are right. However, I can't justify the cost of building a high horsepower turbo build to only see it make gobs of power on a dyno with little to no driveability on the street. I'm not saying this is true for all builds, though.

All you would need would be a boost controller, that is nother reason why superchargers are inefficient if you want to make a lo of horsepower

I fail to see how a boost controller has anything to do with efficiency.

370z TT

I am going to do you a favor and give you some advice... watch what you say... You are miss using terms and will be eaten alive on the interwebz for it.

SC'ers are very effecient (the newer designs like the Rotrex) and make great power. However, they are limited to pulley size and only reach full boost toward the end of the powerband.

Turbo's can have adjustable boost controllers that allow the system to regulate how much boost can be held. Turbo's are not restricted (for the most part) by a pulley or other physical part.

Remember SC'ers pull power from the crank and Turbos pull power from exhaust flow.

I've always heard people with superchargers complain about how their cars have low topend power, and the tend to run the motors too hard. The supercharger is restricted, and I am not trying to offend anyone. Superchargers are a lot of fun for road courses and acceleration, but for topend speed turbos might be slightly better. I come from muscle cars so a lot of people with mustangs would supercharger their rides and be happy, but when it came to high speed racing they couldn't compete because they lost a lot of power in the topend. I do not intend to offend anyone because everyone has their tastes, and turbos require a lot more labor and tuning than a supercharger, so they are not truly cost efficient, but for the amount of power that is made, it is worth it.
