Ehhh. Not gonna speak for SOHO, But most dyno posts apply a correction factor to account for that and other variables so that fair comparisons are possible.

Soho, how fast are you spinning this headunit? What size are the pulleys on the SC and Jackshaft of SC side?

Topgunz, they are the same pulleys that are offered in the kit that you sell, the supercharger is NOT being overspun, which is the point I believe that you are trying to make here...

If that is the case, why would the customer choose to run without a filter and an 8psi pulley when you could have put a filter on and the 9psi pulley and made the same numbers? Is this what you advised him to do?

Would the trade-off here be long-term damage to either component?

If you leave the filter off and run the 8lb pulley, you preserve the longevity of the supercharger by not spinning it faster (i.e. 9lb pulley) at the risk of engine damage from debris.

If you put a filter on and run the 9lb pulley, you save the engine from the debris, but run the risk of quicker degradation of the Supercharger due to the faster speed.

By how much dose the 9psi pulley over spin the charger

~48k vice 55.6k @ 7500 RPM

51.2k vice 58.5k @ 7900 RPM since SOHO is going to 7900

Per Vortech's impeller speed calculator. You can still use it even though it says "cog teeth" since it's just looking for a ratio. https://vortechsuperchargers.com/pag...eed-calculator

The Si version of the V3 is rated to 52k RPM
The Sci version of the V3 is rated at 53k RPM
Per Vortech's website

A rebuilt head unit costs $700. A rebuilt Engine costs $7000.

Yep, I'm 100% in agreeance on this point, I guess I was trying to diffuse the situation without knowing the exact purpose behind the comments. As long as the person who owns the build knows this, I would say that it is up to them. If they want to spin the unit 8k RPM than what it's rated and run without a filter, maybe they have the pockets for the long-term bill.

If SOHO's kit is actually running the ratio from the messaging shown, the SC would be spinning at almost 60k RPM. Seeing this gives me hope for power from my setup haha!

I would agree with you in respect to if SOHO is advertising these numbers with a different setup than your kit (i.e. pulley ratios), they should own and say that.

I guess I'm that guy. Here's what mine is spinning. I do have the 928 Super Vortech upgrade with ceramic bearings so hopefully that saves the sc. Also, running the turbo guard. I'm hoping Topgunz's new filter design will be less restrictive than the stock filter (which I'm sure it will be) and I'll go back to running a filter.
