This sound is not harming anything. It is from the BOV oscillating and the sound is reverbing into the pipe and out of the supercharger inlet. The reason it is so audible is because my Gen 1 kits all came with the KN filter and it muffled this sound where as the ACE kit comes with the velocity stack and pre filter which does not do as good of a job at dampening these sound waves.

It might have something to do with the harmonics of the pipe layout and it is being directed into the inlet differently.

The physics behind this are no different. The same BOV is seeing the same vacuum as the Gen 1 kit. Its always there, just more audible now.

When I tested the Precision turbo 50mm it was MUCH quiter than the Tial QRJ so I am surprised to hear that it is still that audible. In fact, Tony, the owner of the RnD Z, switched back to the QRJ from that PT because he thought the PT was too quiet and wanted to hear more BOV noises.

I also just picked up the new Turbosmart 50mm stealth and am putting that on today to see how this reacts to try to find a solution to anyone who doesn't prefer the noise.

Any update on the Precision Turbo BOV's? I think a few of us are just waiting on this last part before the build can start. I have all of my supporting mods in and am just waiting on this part before the build date.

I know PT has been having some issues supplying parts.

Any updates on how the Turbosmart 50mm stealth reacted? :driving:

It is a little less tame than the QRJ. But the PT50 is still quieter.

Maybe this has been answered, I haven't read all 2000+ posts. Can the original size Nismo tires handle 500 HP? It's my understanding that the auto trans can handle about 500 HP.

I think that it all depends on your driving style. I'm currently on my stock tires but plan on upgrading once I wear these ones out. If your looking to launch, then I would definitely look to upgrade.

I upgraded my tires to the PS4S tires just after a few months of ownership. The original tires only had 2,500 miles on them, and were brand new, but after having the ART pipes and Garageline system installed (my only power upgrade at this time), the tires were getting loose and squirrely. I noticed immediately upon upgrading the tires that the rubber in the originals was much harder, and prone to loss of traction. FYI, the shop owner who mounted the tires was not happy with those rears on the factory wheels. He said they took nearly a couple hours apiece!

Current output to the wheels is 269tq/312hp. I didn't do a "before" dyno run, so I don't know what it was from the factory, but I understand it might be possible I have a "ringer" engine. Like others, I'm waiting on the BOV for the kit.

It's a centrifugal kit, doesn't make a ton extra torque. I've actually had little to no traction issues at 450whp on all season tires. First gear will spin yeah, but if I mash the gas in 2nd usually there's actually no spin.

TopgunZ 09-17-2020 08:05 AM

One thing Ive noticed on extreme summer performance tires is that temperature is a VERY big contributor to grip vs spin. I had my MT streets out on the highway and went squirrely in 4th in 50*F. Where in 70*+ they wouldn't do that in 2nd.

The rubber compound is designed to get soft and sticky in "summer" temps. Cool weather turns them into hard plastic.

I cant speak for the PS4's though.

An Automatic AWD G37 just made 637awhp. Most of you probably seen this on Facebook.

Also, if you want to see an unboxing video a customer of mine made follow the link below. He has his own channel with almost 5,000 followers. If you are not following his channel already, you should. "The Carizon"

Kits can be purchased. I have all of the components here to send them out except for the Vortech V3 head units. Vortech is VERY backed up due to covid issues. To the point where if you were to make a purchase today, I would tell you the kit couldnt ship complete until late December.

The benefit of making a purchase is that you get put "next in line" to limit the lead time.

Head units are trickling in, just not very fast.

Just wanted to take a minute and dedicate a post to Eugene at Enthusiast Autocare and Aaron at Topguns here.

I purchased the Topguns ACE A2A Supercharger kit a while back, and finally got around to having it installed by Eugene last week with a fantastic tune to work with. The man moved FAST and got it done perfectly in just a few days.
Aaron was incredibly communicative throughout the process and was very easy to work with. He let me know what I needed to make the power I wanted, and was available for just about anything I needed. He makes an an absolute amazing kit that I’m really in love with. I’m super glad I went with his work because it’s just absolutely amazing stuff.

Eugene is a complete genius and laid out what would be needed, why, how it worked, and is without a doubt one of the most intelligent people in the Z community. His work, install, and labor, made everything feel OEM+! The man is serious on detail and provided me with one of the best automotive experiences I could have ever asked for. Whenever I had a question (and I had a lot), Eugene was more than happy to be there to help me out. Even now he’s still working with me to get a great tune with small revisions as we datalog, and has done more than ever expected. He even went the extra mile for me and helped create protective wraps for some pieces, and even custom fabbed a couple of brackets for a cleaner install process!

I can’t recommend either enough, and Eugene is absolutely the guy to go to for your Z needs. He’s absolutely amazing at tuning, will walk you through the entire process, and listens to your needs/wants 110%. I’m excited for us to finalize the E85 tune and squeeze out around 650whp on this monster! Car already feels incredible and sounds like a jet!

Below is the list of parts Eugene installed for me:
1300cc Injector Dynamics Injectors
4 Bar Omni Map Sensor
GTR R35 NGK Iridium Spark Plugs
450LPH Black Flag Fuel Pump
Fuel Pump Voltage Stabilizer
CJM S1.E Fuel Return System
CJM Billet Aluminum Fuel Pump Hat
Tial Blow-Off Valve
Topgun ACE A2A Supercharger kit with Vortech V3 Si Blower
CWorks Design Test Pipes

Once everything is dialed in for both the 91 and E85 tunes, I plan to dyno it, adjust some more, and post up the final numbers!
