I too have a Nismo, and I am waiting for my Top Gunz kit. I am looking for a bash bar.
I spoke with Aaron today, and he also recommended that I run a Fast Intentions Bash Bar. |

Welp, it's been a journey but we've are finally making progress towards tuning the car. After a blown vtc solenoid causing a massive oil leak, the car being down for two months, and fighting belt slip, the car is just about ready for Eugene to work his magic. If the belt tension issue is finally fixed, my current projection says I should be hitting 16psi.
Don't plan to run e85, and it will be far fetched to match dynosty's numbers on 93, but I have a feeling we are going to be blowing my original goal of 525whp well out of the water! More updates to come! :driving: EDIT: Side note, I have put 3000 miles on this kit so far, no issue outside of my own mishaps related to the vtc issue as well as a poorly tightened coolant line. Car has been running like a champ. Hoping to take it on a cross country trip later this year. |

16 PSI! Turbo Guard? |
Also, I have created a detailed DIY install video for this kit. Install goes super smooth, apart from bending the coolant line out of the way where I managed to damage the vtc solenoid in the process.

Very good! Thanks for reply Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Tightened the belt last night and did a pull this morning, making a solid 14.5psi. :happydance:
There still seems to be belt slip at 6800 rpm, which causes the manifold pressure to flat line. The 'projection' I referred to earlier refers to extending the boost curve out assuming I had no belt slip, the kit could potentially hit 16psi. I had discussed this with Aaron this morning, we are worried trying to chase that last couple psi may result in undue wear on the belt/sc bearings. :ughdance: So I may play it safe and be happy with 14.5psi. https://i.imgur.com/c8D3lZw.jpg |
UPDATE: Looks like my theory is correct. I think this kit can hit 16ib of boost when running just the turbo guard. I decided to bite the bullet and personally hit 15.2ib while tightening the belt down even further.
SHOULD you do this is another question. Personally I don't want to leave the belt this tight for fear of severely reduced belt life, but interesting to see what this thing is capable of! NOTE the turbulence in the higher RPM range I think is due to VVEL and VTC becoming active. https://i.imgur.com/DB2nbcA.png?1 |
Saw your DIY video on YouTube last week. Fantastic video, thanks for taking the time.

Got this recently installed and running thanks to Eugene looking forward to seeing what this kit is capable of.
