Default Another Supercharger Build in the Works

Alright guys,

I am just putting this thread down to lock in my progress and what I am doing. Currently the car has pretty much every bolt on possible. I am going to do the stillen a2a setup. I am unable to get e-85 so 93 will have to do. These are the current items that I ordered today. I'll do my best to stay on top of pricing for parts only as shops charge differently for work.

Current Modifications- FI Exhaust, FI LTH, 3" RZG CAI, Ported TB's, Ported upper and lower manifold, CSF Radiator, Whiteline Differential Bushings, Hotchkis Sway Bars, F&R SPL sway bar links, Koni Yellow Struts, NST Crank Pulley kit, Poly Urethane Motor Mounts, Z1 CSC Elimination Kit. There is more I am missing but you get the idea.

Current Build Cost= 13,411.95

TopgunZ ACE A2A S/C kit
JWT C2 Cam Set
ACT Stage 5 Clutch and Mid Weight Flywheel
EPS Oil Gallery Gasket Kit
Z Speed HD Slave Cylinder
CJM S1SE Fuel Return System
CJM Twin Pump System
Z1 Motorsports Anti Starvation Kit
AEM X-Series Wideband, Boost Gauge
ProSport Intake Temp Gauge
Triple Gauge Pod
Reflective Heat Tape
Omni 4 Bar MAP Sensor
Z1 Motorsports 370Z / G37 Aluminum Subframe Bushing Collars
EcuTek Bluetooth
FIC 1700cc
ID Plug and Play connectors
Boundary Oil Pump Gears

IG is punch370z

I did pick up some race gas and e85 just so everyone can get an idea of the potential numbers you can get. RZG is doing my install and tune if anyone is interested.

93 Pump

VP 110

E-85

Okay guys these are the numbers I made on my car. Now it has been raining here in NC and it does get pretty humid so the temps weren't obviously ideal. The numbers are on a Mustang Dyno which rule of thumb is it generally reads lower than a DynoJet. That conversation is up for debate as there are so many factors between the two and don't forget location and weather. I know either Dyno can be manipulated in its own way. So take it how you want it when it compares to other kits, location, weather, tuner, dyno. I am going to run the car on a DynoJet from a random shop just to appease the community once I get an appointment. Feel free to call RZG as they love this kit for its easy installation and potential. I am hoping to get the car back today but it depends on weather.

You could add methanol injection in place of e85 ..that’s what I did since e85 isn’t very convenient for me to be a daily driver

I thought about this and I am sure people have had no issues going that route but after talking to several shops it's just not as reliable as e-85. Also it does not cool effectively since it would be shooting before the throttle bodies unlike e-85 as a direct spray from the injectors. Also there are no fail safes that can be added using that method for the S/C.

I don't see injectors on your list, what are you going with?

Will be interesting to see how the cams work with the SC. I just got my sc build back. Working on tuning now. If you search for threads by me I did a detailed google sheet of my parts. I don’t see any headers. Even for NA that would have been a good bolt on. I have Motordyne LTHs, helmholtz test pipes and full exhaust. Thinking about trying their cats that swap in and out with pipes, but don’t know if they’ll last with the SC on there. It can get pretty obnoxious. Doesn’t smell all that good, but e85 will fix that. Good luck!

And you’re not that far from me! 2 ½ hrs.

I have ported TBs, Upper and Lower manifold, FI LTH and Exhaust. Thanks for the support! How far are you from getting E-85?

How far from getting e85... miles wise? It’s all around me. Tuning wise, a few days or more before we start that.

Ya like for me the closest is over an hour away so a 2 hour round trip for fuel is just not practical.

Just reviving my thread. It has been a long time since I started the thread and no progress has been made due to waiting on parts. Now we are ready to move forward and I am expecting the project to be completed in about 2-4 weeks. Hopefully I get some decent numbers.

On your oil gallery screws. To keep them from backing out. At the edge of the screw. Place a center punch there and hit it with a hammer. It doesn't have to be a hard hit. But you want to leave a nice punch mark tho. This is an old mechanic's trick. When I worked for Elliott. We did this all the time. Some screws got 3 punch marks on them.

The reliability depends on the install, the kit you choose, and how good/conservative the tuning is. If the car is tuned aggressively and its most timing advance relies only on the water-meth injection, then there will be reliability concern. With that being said, I'm using it in all of my maps to help the car further assure it of the best ignition (tuned based solely on the fuels themselves) it can achieve. There are also few friends of mine running it even along with their ethanol-mixed fuels. Overall, it's a good thing to have it as additional ensurance on a boosted car and I like mine. The only drawback is you have to shorten the interval of changing the engine oil a little bit.
