I am 1/8 in. lower in the front than the rear. It could very well be air being trapped under the front fenders causing lift.

It is a series of trade offs as you know. Drag is the devil he is dealing with. If he can get the car lower and mitigate some of the big high pressure airflow zones, add aero that will create downforce to increase his mechanical grip front and rear he will pickup a least 10 more miles per hour in the conditions he was running in.
