I am in the middle of installing my supercharger. The instructions have the oil cooler placed in the wheel well. doing a quick mock up it appears I can put it in the normal location (in front of the condensor).
My brother's BP turbo kit has it in between the radiator and IC. So I know it´s a viable option as long as I can make it all fit. He doesn't have a CSF radiator (yet) like I do, but so far his oil and water temps seem to be fine, not sure a intake temps. He hasn't had a chance to push it in hot weather though. We have barely cracked the 80s in NC, so far. Anyway... Cons for in the wheel well are: -Have to make some extended hoses. Not a huge deal, but why spend money if you don't have to. -The biggest being the lack of airflow. So it needs a fan and vents in the fender liner, at a minimum. What would the cons of having it behind the IC be? This is what I have so far, just not sure how big of a concern they actually are -Less airflow to the radiator -More heat near the IC / heatsoak Thoughts? Where would you put it? |
