Sideways oil cooler mounting?

I there any reason that I shouldn't mount my Stillen 25 row cooler with the outlets located on the side? Top mounted outlets will retain dirty oil during a change

Default Sideways oil cooler mounting?

I there any reason that I shouldn't mount my Stillen 25 row cooler with the outlets located on the side? Top mounted outlets will retain dirty oil during a change and bottom facing outlets have a chance of trapped air bubbles. Assuming I make my own brackets, wouldn't mounting the outlets vertically be the best choice and also might have better oil line routing too. I've mounted trans coolers vertically on other vehicles for these reasons without a problem before but no one seems to have done this with their oil cooler on the 370 that I've seen. Am I missing something?

You'll be fine with any orientation you choose. Just don't mount it with the side edge facing forwards .

I've often debated this myself... I was thinking having the feed line at the top and the draw line at the bottom so it will help with both problems. I think the biggest difficulty is fabing your own bracket since not everyone has access to the tools/materials.

Would like to see a DIY once you get it done.
