LMAO, I got parts that I need to sell because I waited so long I don't need them anymore. Oh and I have a 3D printed battery tray as well as an Odyssey battery relocation kit. I need to do an inventory of my parts because I know I have some stuff I totally forgot about stashed away in some dark hole.

What about replacement OEM PCV or radiator hoses? Or an OEM intake? Or a used OEM diff bushing? Or a used OEM CSC? Or an OEM exhaust? Or an aftermarket hood? Or knockoff CS mirrors?

Spooler 11-02-2020 10:44 AM

By the way, my old block is toast. It is too questionable to reuse.

You didn't see by the picture. It plasma cut all the way to the outside of the block pass the cylinder too far. It's done. I thought that might be the case. Oh well.
Why use something questionable. This one is sold to a forum member. I don't pedal junk.

Seen the pictures. Didn't notice anything on the outside.

When back and looked at the pictures again. I can see the 2 spots on the outer wall.

New used longblock will be at Mazworx tomorrow. Thanks to Elmo370z.

Spooler 11-02-2020 10:15 PM

All I have to say about the old engine is that is one expensive lesson. To all the other folks who think they know best. Knock yourself out.

Is this a back up just in case or doing different things?

I sold it. Being rebuilt before new owner takes delivery.

Spooler 11-03-2020 08:31 PM

Drove the car this afternoon. This engine sounds and runs like nothing I have ever had before. It is so crisp it is uncanny. Mazworx builds one heck of a High Performance engine. The last engine was crisp, this one is just nuts.

Spooler 11-04-2020 09:18 PM

When you help push people in the right direction on a built motor and they won't listen. What do you do. Feed them Scooby snacks?????

JARblue 11-05-2020 04:04 AM

Why do you care if they don't listen?

My clients pull this kinda **** all the time and then whine to me when they don't pass inspection. IDGAF and just point them to my report with the comments that they ignored.

I care because most folks it will put them out and they won't recover. I was lucky enough to be able to put mine back together again. That was a hard bill to pay. Explaining what happened to the wife wasn't easy either. If I can help save someone the trouble, I will. That is what this thread's continuation has been all about. I could have just as easily went into hiding like everyone else has in the past.

I can't imagine the conversation. :icon14:

I've done the stupid thing of letting someone else build an engine, the engine blowing because they screwed it up and then having to sell the car for pennies because I couldn't afford to fix it. (67 Chevelle). It's one of life's lessons that suck eggs. :shakes head::shakes head:

They say that when the student is ready, the teacher appears. This thread has been a learning experience for me, showing me what are the right things to do and what doesn't work so well. Thanks Spooler. :tiphat::tiphat:

I get it. You want to help the community build this car right. You are a good man, Charlie Brown :tiphat:

But for me... there's just something special about giving someone all the tools they need to make the right decisions and then laughing at them when they fail spectacularly in spite of it. I do feel bad for the car though :(

Yup, I have to draw a line in the sand somewhere and it is getting real close. I have done all I can to educate. Going silent is not far away.

Spooler 11-05-2020 08:49 AM

I will through out some numbers so that all the dumbchits can get the picture.

My first build cost me a little over 50k. That is not all the mods I had done previously like OS Giken diff, Aragosta suspension, SPL parts out the wazo, Wheels and tires, etc.

My redo was around 25k.

For the folks who think they know best and can do it cheaper. Good luck and have fun. Don't message me bragging about what you know and how smart you are. IDGAF.....

I have a good wife. My last 2 builds are here at my house. My 1969 VW Beetle that I spent a ton of money on back in the early 90's, time to redo it for the third time, and my 1975 Datsun 280zt. That one will be in honor of my next door neighbor and good friend Bill who got me started in all this craziness. I sure do miss him. There is only one dream that I have never accomplished, that is being a professional race car driver. I am now too old and broken to even consider that anymore.

You have a core group of friends here that love you and are willing to stroke your ego anytime. Just don't drop the soap in the shower. Because some will love you long time.

Run, I have soap on a rope.

Sitting here wishing my new battery would show up. I hope I have it by the weekend.

Spooler 11-05-2020 03:43 PM

Ask and Ye shall receive. I got my new Antigravity battery in my hands. It doesn't weigh anything. Told the UPS driver it was a battery and he like to have fell over. LOL

Spooler 11-05-2020 03:44 PM

I was going to wait for the weekend, I don't think I will make it. Going in the car in 15min. LMAO!!!

Spooler 11-05-2020 03:45 PM

Where are my scales, I got to weigh this chit.
